I agree with the comments above.

He may not be the most technically gifted, but Kouyate was good yesterday, he must've won atleast 75% of aerial duels he went in for which i was impressed with.

I think with the holding 3 of himself, Luka & Jimmy and then Meyer to replace Schlupp, its a team that can potentially have a good season (once we get through these next 4 games, which will no doubt cause some sort of meltdown on here in the mean time).

Whatever happens, theres still 87 points to play for, we probably only need a third of those to be safe again for another year (im trying to be optimistic)

On the assumption that we lose the next 4 games, which is highly likely, we will have 7 pts after 13 games.
Last season we had 8 pts after 13 games but at this stage last season we hadn't lost 7 on the bounce after the 13 games.

The comparisons to last season are a bit much.

It was the worst start for any team in the history of professional football. It’s an outlier.

Compare this year to previous seasons but not last year as that is a total one off.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Of course 0 pts after 7 games was the worst start but as I mentioned, after 13 games we might have less points than after 13 games last season. In our 13th game last season we won 2-1 beating Stoke - not sure we will win our 13th game this season !

Who knows what affect losing 7 on the bounce will have on us, if indeed this sorry state of affairs is the reality ? In effect this will be 0 pts from 7 games - sounds familiar ?

I thought Hennessey, AWB, Tomkins & Zaha were very good.

Sakho seems to be a complete liability, when he first got here he was playing confident passes to feet and doing the right things. Now he seems to be dwelling on the ball, trying ridiculous back heels and the amount of times he played a complete hospital ball to Luka was insane. He made Luka look awful by playing such horrific passes that he had no choice but to just lump it somewhere with no control.

We are clearly crying out for someone with some composure in the team which is why I find it so astounding that Meyer has barely featured.

Schlupp was poor yesterday, he's athletic but that's about where it seems to end. Their second goal came from him trying to beat four players and kicking it at them each time, it bobbling back to him and then trying the same thing until he eventually lost it and they scored.

Zaha is completely isolated and has no help.

Townsend is a player that you can normally count on to run and run and will have a streak of games where he looks world class then goes back to normal, we just don't seem to have had that streak for about 2 years though.

I love McArthur but he just seems to be running around like a headless chicken at the moment.

We need to go back to 4-5-1 and we desperately need a fit striker.

If we had a fit first team I would play

.........Hennessey

AWB...Tomkins....Sakho...PVA

.......Kouyate...Luka
...........Meyer
Townsend/Ayew...........Zaha
...........Benteke

Watching it on the box, I thought that Kouyate looked good. TBH I was thinking that with his aerial ability, and the way he gets stuck in he may be a good target man. I'd be tempted to play him up top against Arsenal who don't have the best back line.

Just a thought...

Top post but would have a fit Wickham instead of Benteke.
I never thought I would write it but I am so looking forward to Wickham being fit again and hopefully getting a run of games!
