Well, not much learned tonight - our squad is as thin as we thought. Disappointed in Townsend yet again - so unthreatening. Guaita plays like he's imbibed 6 cans of Red Bull before the match, slightly worrying.

Sorloth is a rare player that I actively dislike. A pathetic excuse for a footballer who contributes nothing, can't be bothered to challenge defenders - or lazily fouls them - can't be bothered to compete, can't be bothered to fight for the team. If I were one of his team-mates I'd despise him.

That was simply appalling.

Optimistic as ever

Well, hopefully Meyer's performance will answer all Hodgson's critics as to why he doesn't play often in the prem. Sorloth and most of the others as well. Terrible performance by the squad players and Townsend looking as bad as normal. Grrrr!

Any positives at all? I can't think of any...

..other than perhaps cementing my opinions of certain players.

Could have fielded our U/23's and got a better performance tonight. Guaita aside and maybe the two CB's we were abjectly woeful. If this doesn't focus the mind on the depth of the squad, what will?

I hope the chairman was watching how inept out two best available strikers are. Incredible that a PL team of 5 years is relying on such lemons up front.
Going behind against a well drilled team like 'Boro was always likely to mean Palace nil.

Schlupp was garbage as well.
