since promotion, on the whole its not been defending that has been our problem and it is a lot, an awful lot of money.

AWB is obviously f***ing quality but we cant hold him against his wishes, and if it helps us sign michi (or similar) then its all good with me.

as a club our size, you simply cannot turn down north of £50m for a full back.

And if we take the money for our best talent, we will always be that size or probably smaller.

Anyone already thought with the rules in place after the Brexit his value probably will raise...

His value to a top 6 to 8 club in England is greater as clubs in European (or planning on being in Europe in the near future) competitions have to have a certain number of homegrown players within their squad registration for the Euro cup and Champions League. It's why AWB is more valuable to say Man Utd than he is to PSG for example.

I've been loving AWB so much rock the casbah has become one of my favourite match-day playlist songs.

IMO, and I will add that I didn't make many away games last season, AWB was one of our most consistent performers last season and to a high standard at that.

However, anything north of £50million would be massive for Palace. I am not professing to know anything about finances but I would guess we cannot reinvest all or even most of that cash but it would certainly put us in a far better situation.

AWB is a fantastic RB, however I feel that for a fraction of his fee we could get someone who could fill that gap suitably without causing much damage to the team. They might even offer a more attacking threat (AWB did look to be improving in that aspect however).

Would be sad to see him go but at the same time I'd be pleased for him. I don't think there was any real prospect of AWB breaking into the first team as a winger but he has found himself in the miraculous position of being a £50mil full back. Let him pursue a dream move and leave us to financially profit, wins all round.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I kinda think it is time you moved on and supported another team

So you are happy for the team to sell it's best players and that makes you a good supporter?

How many games have you actually attended?

A daft comparison.

Both those clubs can attract quality replacements.
Both those players had a desire to play for a specific club.

They are both creators and scorers. AWB is a right back who hasn’t proved himself in attack.

Do you accept that Palace are running at a loss?

Do you accept that in order to survive as a club we will have to sell a player as we have outspent our income buying players like Sakho, Benteke etc.?

Do you accept that a supporter wanting their club to not go into administration is not a bad suuporter?

Do you accept that there is also the possibility that sometimes selling one excellent player for two good players can in fact improve an overall team rather than keeping the one excellent player?

Hrolf is not for turning.

He’s a right back ffs in a side that doesn’t score at home, at a club that is so hamstrung with transfer funds we may as well watch on the laptop instead of going.

I’ve been a season ticket holder for yonks and I and those in charge will see the reasons for selling a right back in our financial and on field creative predicament.

I think we need to find other ways to save money.

You are contradicting yourself.

We cannot 'need' to sell and then buy two new players.

If our current net spend budget is £10 mil and we sell AWB for £50 mil and sign two players for £15 mil each then we are doing the right thing being £30 mil up on net spend. Even if we came out £20 mil up on net spend we’d be better off than losing £35 mil plus whatever lost on net spend.

The two wages wouldn’t eat up that money and there’s a long term strategy to reduce it anyway.

I can’t believe this discussion. And from a conservative.

I’m getting flashbacks to the sale of Sean Scannell and Darren Ambrose.
