I hope this drives hoke to the club the enormous potential rewards of developing players and giving them a shot. We grew a £50 million asset in 18 months. That alone has paid for the youth set up. If he does go, AWB will make a huge, positive difference to the club's finances.

Well said. To think that, in the past, people have questioned the merits of investing in the academy. This one move probably puts the academy in profit for it's entire history. Especially when you then add in what we got for Moses, Clyne and will get for Zaha.

IMO invest heavily in it, get it up to category 1 status and then start entering teams in the football league trophy or whatever it is.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Producing players to play for Palace is one thing but if the club is just a nursery to create talent for bigger clubs then I won't be wasting money on season tickets.

AWB has played for us for one season for god sake.

If selling our right back (Still learning) for big bucks makes the Squad/Team Stronger then yes . The big question is how the money is spent ?

And what about Wilf...

Financing to the academy imo should always take precedence over the new stand. Like someone else said.. get it to category 1 standards ASAP.

Fill it with potential and have a route to the first team for the best. Best way to be a suiatainable football club.

There was a stat last season that more than 10% of Premier League players come from south London. We should have a good chance of picking up some more talented youngsters.

Well, you have your price and I have mine.

But the club would thrive like it has never thrived before if we could find one AWB a season. There's a lot of great young talent in the area so it's very possible.

And we would really crush our local rivals because our set up would need to be brilliant and omnipresent in the local area to do that.

Our finances could also be so much stronger than they are today.

Sun reporting Emery asking the Arsenal board to “break the bank - expected fee £55M - yeah that would be right then given AWB £55M..!! On that basis try £75M - minimum..!! How does some of this nonsense even go into copy? If true and £55M a “stretch” for Arsenal that’s them out of signing Wilf..!!

Sadly,,we are only finding a diamond about once every five years.

Based on salary alone and now Wan’s value it’s got to be £100M minimum. With any luck, neither Arsenal or Tottenham can afford him.
