Well, West Brom at least are having scouts doing their job. You know that Alberth Elis young Hondurian I talked about on the first page?

Sorry to bump this old thread, but we do really need a center forward and within a reasonable price, unlike Batshuayi. From the center fowards mentioned here one died (Sala, rip), one has been permanently injured and out of professional football (Leigh Griffiths), one has transferred to Feberbahce as a free player (Max Kruse), 2 are on Palace's radar as far as we know: Neal Maupay and Alfredo Morelos, both being short strikers and costing around 20 million.

What about the others?

Tiquinho's value has gone up as he scored 22 goals in all competitions and I don't think Porto would sell cheap anymore. There's a 20 million offer from China for him.

Martinez is still in the MLS, was with the national team at the Copa America. Assale is with Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations, with Zaha, maybe he could provide some info. Samatta will play with Genk in the Champions League, probably wants to score a few goals there and then get a big money transfer. Bounedjah is also at CAN with Algeria.

I think you'll find he's back playing already in pre-season games. He was off through depression related problems not physical ones.

Yeah, but it's hard to believe Griffiths could ever return to form, the way he used to be.

What options does this leave us with?

Once he heard we were interested he said he'd go back and play every match of the season for free.

I wouldn't mind seeing how our forwards go if we bought someone who can actually accurately get the ball to them, especially to Bentekes head.
Aaron Mooy was one of the most accurate crosser and set piece takers I have seen or even Marc Allbrighton, neither of whom would break the bank.

What he said! Can’t understand why our crossing is so rare and crap.

Managers instruction. He likes to pass the ball in front of an opposition defense.
