So let me get this right, my car (2014 diesel) doesn’t meet clean air standards, but if I pay £12.50 a day then it does?

Nothing to do with clean air just a way of making money.

And once everyone has a clean car what’s he going to do as he’ll lose his cash

This is over-hype.

It's not responsible and not necessary and offensive to run a polluting vehicle, you are damaging other people's health.

London's air has been transformed by Khan, I had asthma for years thanks to London pollution.

Vehicle emissions poison and kill if we must have them they must meet the strictest standards possible.

There are inexpensive alternatives, electric scooters and bikes for example buses cabs, its only if your vehicle does not meet the required standard.

Judging by your posts, I'm sure you must still be breathing in something funny.

Yup, said it myself. If he was serious you’d pay £200 a day or banned but it’s a cash injection from a tax. Although yours and my car 2015 diesel are possibly cleaner than some petrol cars post 2006 which are allowed to drive for free.

ULEZ: More than 1m people outside London to be hit by expansion - report

[Link]

According to ONS
There was 1 death registered in London in the period 2001 to 2021 which had exposure to air pollution recorded on the death certificate in either part 1 or part 2 of the death certificate. This death was attributed to environmental air pollution, however we are unable to determine whether this involved car emission

It’s a tax. Plain and simple. If not you would pay per kg of co2 not a set charge for a whole bracket.
I wish a zillionaire would buy everyone within 20 miles of this ulez a vehicle which was free of ulez. Then the c*** would be stuffed.

Nice idea cryst.

A lot of people are forgetting, that the ULEZ daily charge of £12.50 is for all vehicles up to 3.5t incl motorbikes. All vehicles over 3.5t are subject to a £100 daily charge which includes Lorries/Artics, Single & twin decked coaches as well as single & double decked buses from out of the area.

On top of the ULEZ charge is the Congestion Charge for central London & on top of that is the LEZ charge for all of Greater London of between £100 - £300 for Lorries/Coaches &another £12.50 for small vehicles.

Kinda makes you want to out & drive in & around London really.

I think its just what the Doctor ordered.

Provided your vehicle meets the ULEZ emission standards you do not pay, otherwise you have to clean up your act and Londoners inhabitants do not have to inhale your poison.

Why are London Boroughs spending millions of taxpayers money opposing it, I think tfl can override them anyway.

Mayor Khan doing the right, not popular, thing.

Go on then swampy. Give us the facts about Londons air quality.
If khant had or does put tamper proof calibrated sensors all around London and the outskirts for say one year and put the results online; then put in the ulez for one year with the same calibrated equipment and actually prove a difference I will say fair play. Although if the results are negligible then I think you have the reason behind it.
The question has to be why he hasn’t got this evidence or want this evidence.
Do you not even want to question his motives ?
