She is blatently screwing the system because she is an ignorant, non caring polititian.
Showing absolutely no respect for the people she was elected to help.
Wealth equality; as we are battered with by the looney left, clearly doesnt exist in her world.
Could you clarify how you feel about her actions possibly without saying " but what about those and what about them"
I reckon its checkmate for you on this one pp.

She should give up the council house but she has lived there 30 years so it's her home

I'm sure we'd all do the same

Why did Tong Po think running at Kurt with a flame would make any difference?

Yes probably thousands with her but please.
Not so blatently refuse to look at other options.
The woman is morally bankrupt if you ally it to her role in society.

Like many people she probably wasn't well paid when she first moved in and her life improved subsequently. That's why I think council rent should be automatically linked to earnings. As your life improves you should have to pay more and if you are earning good money then that should be market value rent. The taxpayer should not be subsidising people who are well off.

there should be zero Long-term dole spongers living in expensive London.

Send them to a giant tower-block ghetto which is purpose built on the Shetland Islands. Food stamps only with mandatory drink/drug testing. When they get a job they can come and live with the rest of us.

why should you bust a gut to carry anonymous passengers in this life ?

I kind of doubt you'll be offering them any employment. Me neither. So what you're basically saying is if you're unemployable you should have no right to liberty. Bit harsh.

Since when was "unemployable" synonymous with "long-term dole sponger"?

There are plenty of unemployed and unemployable people who would like to do a job if they could and there are plenty of people perfectly capable of getting and holding down a job but who don't because it isn't in their interests or they can't be arsed.

I thought council houses were for the poor, not the rich? Kate Osamor is 'rich' with a salary of 77k plus benefits. She is in the top 5% of earners.

Double standards here mate. You don't really care about the poor - like you constantly bleat about - as your beef is with the rich (apart from when it's one of your own, of course).

Otherwise you'd be upset Osamor, who can afford to buy her own home, has taken a home away from a person who is homeless or a family crammed into a home that's too small for them to live.

What was it that Orwell said about socialists? Something like, 'they don't like the poor, they just hate the rich'.

If social housing isn't for the poor then it shouldn't exist.....and I support the idea and intent of social housing....We need a hell of a lot more of it.

This case is an abuse of the original intention....pure and simple.

There is a poor family being fecked out of a home here.

Some socialists are more equal than others.

Yep, those champagne bottles pop so loudly that it covers the sound of their own hypocrisy.

I view Thatcher as a necessary correction to Britain's economic ills of the time...I mean, what were the choices? Her or Foot...But that in no way changes my view that she also did damage...We know that she started selling off the council houses without replacing the stock...houses built for people who needed them....An example of selfish short termism......Great for those that benefited while a complete pulling up of the ladder for the next generation.

While we can pick apart this or that policy I think the biggest damage she did was to the mindset of how the Tory party should see itself.

She wasn't a one nation Tory in the Macmillan mode.....I'm old enough to remember Macmillan complaining about her selling off the 'family silver' with that too wishful thinking that privatization was the answer to all the ills in the public utilities. The truth is that we have had very mixed results.

That said, Thatcher had great qualities as both a leader and as a conviction politician....What she would think of the current parade in the party I dread to think....A line up of social justice warrior wannabes and feminists mixed with globalistic neo liberalism.

As someone said the other day.....The Conservatives....what are they conserving exactly?
