Maybe it's neither and it's the players...

If we lost tomorrow at Southampton, which of course is a distinct possibility, I suspect both barrels will be aimed at both Hodgson and the Board.

I think it is because your comments are extremely dull.

Well, they've managed to break your cycle of posting lustreless comments every couple of months so they can't be that bad.

Then again, you're clearly an expert so this could be praise from Cesar!

HOL can't decide so we clearly need a referendum.

Southgate's reputation was average at best before the world cup but he got us to the Semi-final without the likes of Gerrard and Rooney.

Roy's an average manager with a limited lifespan at any club.

Well said.

You're jumping in when this started about 20 pages ago, perhaps on a different thread thread.

Argile and I are debating his statement that Roy was the best England manager of all time, a position he keeps shifting on.

I totally agree that Roy has found his level with us and I've never advocated sacking him.

I am critical of his style and shortcomings and don't think it suits us long term. I'm frustrated that it's the accepted benchmark to just stay up every season, something Roy has built a career on, so yes: under our current model he's absolutely perfect for us.

2013 / 2014 - 11th
2014 / 2015 - 10th
2015 / 2016 - 15th
2016 / 2017 - 14th
2017 / 2018 - 11th

I wouldn't class those league positions as "just staying up". We may not do well all season, but we are fighters and our players do not give up.
