Wilbraham was a very good player, just couldn't score goals.

Scored at all 4 levels of English football, but I accept he was not that proficient although he didn't do too badly at Bristol C.

Deeming him a "Very good player" is in my humble opinion over-egging the actualite. He is a player known for his workrate and the ability to hold the ball up well.He is currently on the books of Rochdale.

So not a good enough striker at the championship level then.

With those 4 signings the goalie is not the one that concerns me.

Parish said Rakip was signed to make up the numbers in training.......no.....really, he honestly said that.

Jach is struggling on loan at a poor side in Turkey.

As for Sorloth he has no positional sense whatsoever, added to no physical presence. The least you expect from a centre forward is to get into the right positions and give the defenders a hard time but he is so easy to mark out of the game. Wilbraham would be a better option, and when you compare unfavorably to Aaron Wilbraham, you know you have issues.

He is absolutely nowhere near the finished article and must be loaned out urgently. Therefore we need to bring in new blood unless Wickham and Benteke are match fit on Jan 1, and even then we probably still need to sign a proper striker.

Since there's no guarantee (based on previous) that both of them still would be fit on Jan 2nd, we definitely need to sign one (or give one of the youngsters a chance to shine).

I've said Sorloth should start Saturday but i'm coming round to the idea of a youngster coming in instead - James Daly. Two crosses were flashed across West Hams box last week, one from McCarthur and one from Zaha and a striker who's not got the mental baggage/pressure of not scoring all season on his shoulders may have just made the type of run that gets on the end of those crosses.

Isn't he on loan to Kingstonian?

Wilbs was a “very good striker” the way that Owen Garvan was a “very good midfielder”.

Point is he could put himself around, time his runs, not give fouls away too much and generally be a nuisance.

Sorloth is as much a nuisance to opposition back fours as a lottery win.

Ayew at least can hold the ball up and has some close control but choosing between those two to lead the line is like picking between sanogo and bamford.

Questions must be asked if we lose the next two games against Leicester and Man City with only a win against Cardiff likely to prevent Parish from pulling the trigger on poor old Roy's beleaguered tenure,as the table doesn't lie.
Very sad state of affairs which should never have happened.

Wilbraham came to us an an experienced striker with over 400 games to his name.
Sorloth had never experienced English football and came to us with far less experience than Wilbraham had when he joined.A period on loan at a Championship club might help his development.

The fact that James Daly is on loan at Kingstonian would indicate that he is not ready for PL football.
He has scored 6 goals in 18 appearances for them.

I think we can say that Sorloth needs a loan, maybe even League One initially, and its a nailed on cert. He must go on loan asap to resurrect his confidence and his career.

He absolutely will not come good being given 30 mins here and there in the premier league and the odd cup game before we get knocked out.

Comparing Sorloth and Wilbraham is difficult in terms of their past trajectories prior to joining Palace, but my point was even in the limited ability player that Wilbs was, we had a guy who could at least position himself in the box to receive a cross.

Sorloth tends to stand behind the defenders, even when he is 2 feet taller than them. He needs to learn his trade properly then have another crack at Premier League football.

Begs the question though, where is the famed coaching of Lewington and RH? I have seen no improvement whatsoever in almost a year.
