The world cup IS as easy as winning 5 games and drawing one: sounds so simple we should be winning it every time. So why don't we?

That's right. Because 'just' winning 5 games and drawing one at a world cup is actually as hard as Gary Glitter's underpants' slug whilst walking around Mothercare.

Your right for once, it is hard to win a would cup, so why are you sh**ing on Hodgson at every opportunity because HE didn't win a world cup, just like the other 17 managers of England didn't.

Hodgson shat on himself pal by putting Kane on corners and humiliating the country on the world stage at two international tournaments.

You excluded the statistics you didn't want and you can only doctor the result to get him to the fourth best despite previous claims that he's got the best overall record as England manager AND that he was better than Ramsey. You then said that winning a world cup wasn't the most important goal, which is a bizarre and completely ridiculous thing to say.

I admire your loyalty to our manager, but trying to rearrange history to suit your new found love of just another average palace manager undermines the credibility of anything you post in relation in Palace.

Hodgson was badly let down by a group of players who turned to jelly against Iceland. Interestingly one or two did the same when we had the best chance to get a World Cup final in my lifetime last summer.

I don’t know who all these fantastic managers are who are chomping at the bit to come to Palace. After the FDB debacle and the sh1t job Pellegrino did at Southampton ( he was also strongly linked with us as well) I think the experience of Roy and Ray is a good fit for us. We were in a diabolical mess when they stepped last season and have kept our heads above the water despite long spells without a fit / decent striker.

You're jumping in when this started about 20 pages ago, perhaps on a different thread thread.

Argile and I are debating his statement that Roy was the best England manager of all time, a position he keeps shifting on.

I totally agree that Roy has found his level with us and I've never advocated sacking him.

I am critical of his style and shortcomings and don't think it suits us long term. I'm frustrated that it's the accepted benchmark to just stay up every season, something Roy has built a career on, so yes: under our current model he's absolutely perfect for us.

And you accuse ME of altering the facts, i did say that his record was the best, as it happens he didn't quite make the best, but 4th best from 17 with the tools at his disposal compared to other managers is bloody good, my response was to your post was because you stated he was the worst England manager, i have proved conclusively that this is not the case, quite close to the opposite in fact, but although all the information came from Wikipedia you refuse to accept it because it dues not substantiate your ridicules idea that Hodgson was the worst.
I am not going to respond to this subject anymore, i am sure your as bored with it as i am, i am sure we will cross swords again in the near future.

I didn't say he was the worst ever.

I challenged you saying he was the best ever, better than Ramsey, and winning the world cup wasn't a big achievement.

He's placed 9th out of 20 according to Wikipedia.

I don't think I have.

Where does it say in my post that I think it is easy ?

I am a long-distance follower of CPFC now (in NZ) but as I lad I went along to watch some of the Palace 'legends' including Johny Byrne, our best ever striking partnership and many, many more, Attillo included.
I read every single posting on the CPFC 'message Board' and every time I look there are 3-4 negative posts versus 1 positive/optimistic post.

As a follower /supporter, I urge every single fan to be more positive/enthusiastic/ supportive/ thankful to those that raised Palace from oblivion to being the developing PL team they are today. Instead of 'trashing' individuals' performances every week, I suggest we re-build those lacking in confidence-because EVERYONE wearing the cherished shirt needs SUPPORT not 'trash talk' criticism. Let's get behind Roy and his Eagles. He knows the difference between GOOD and GREAT and he deserves outlasting gratitude-not continual criticism! My grandmother once said...'Ignore criticism unless it comes from an expert'. Palace fans need to be MORE POSITIVE!!

You should keep going pal, you'll learn how to read the bigger words soon enough.

Just try and break them down into smaller sections and sound them out in blocks before running them together as one word.

On top of the boring performances that led the public to lose almost all interest in the England team his tournament record was awful. Got through the first round of 2012 by the skin of our teeth. Out in the first round of 2014. Out to Iceland in 2016.

Southgate's reputation was average at best before the world cup but he got us to the Semi-final without the likes of Gerrard and Rooney.

Roy's an average manager with a limited lifespan at any club.

No I think you misunderstand his post.

I think it is because your comments are extremely dull.
