Putting Harry Kane on corners is just an unfortunate circumstance that could feed that opinion.

It was successful not massive, the only down was Blackburn after his first season in charge they finished sixth and qualified for the UEFA Cup but in the next season they suffered horrific injuries and lost key player Colin Hendry sold, They were relegated with Brian Kidd in charge after Hodgson left in November so technically it wasn't all his fault, this was his only bit disaster in football, generally he has a very positive effect on clubs.

Kane was good at doing corners and there were others to cause problems in the box, but as we know him now (not then so much) it did appear weird didn't it, I think it was Rooney who said he also took some to free up Kane to get into the box for some of them

A common sense post prevails , let’s blame the board for saving the club, getting promoted and staying in the PL for six season (securing a 100 m investment) and all the other behind the scenes things that have been achieved to reverse the years of decline and under investment.

Relative success, I've got respect for him cutting his teeth abroad in part time leagues, sure. Where's the massive success?

I know he's our manager and of course we all want him to succeed, but the level of sycophancy on here is incredible to me. It's at the level of trying to rewrite history! He was a disaster for England and really, nothing to write home about at club level. He suits us because as a club our board's ambition matches his ability. It's a good fit.

Nearly 700 games in management and no trophies in England would demonstrate the level of achievement in the context that is applicable to us. Getting Switzerland to 3rd in the world rankings for a month 26 years ago is success in the context of the job he was doing at the time. None of the above demonstrates overall massive amounts of success.
