Having calmed down overnight, ladt night was 'one of those games'. We looked comfortable until the penalty and thought we were just starting to get back in the gane. The penalty was never a oenalty, the corner from their second goal was a goal kick. If both of those hadn't been given who knows what would happen. Them having a player sent off probably helped them, they just put 10 men behind the ball and it was obvious to the fans and the players we were never going to score 3 goals. Our defence, who havd been so consistent, had a nightmare first half....it happens. Let's see what happens against West ham....

Surely we cannot be as dreadful as last night.Or maybe we will !

Another inept defeat and I fear gladitorial hostility will be aimed at Messrs Parish and Hodgson.

Not sure why people are exoecting anything from the January transfer window, from what Roy's said either he thinks that our lack of a decent striker isn't much of a problem or he's been told there's no money for it, I'm leaning towards the former tbh.

We can be just as dreadful as our tactics and overall play allow.

We have a fundamental problem in playing teams who setup like Brighton. If West Ham do the same defensively we will barely carve out a single chance and Zaha will be totally ineffective.

The hostility may not be gladiatorial but perhaps more akin to the mob of screaming rabble who paid to watch the warriors fight.

I's sure supporters will be filled with glee and re-assured after reading what Hodgson has said :

"At the moment, we have a number of attacking players, and [Christian] Benteke is not too far away. [Jordan] Ayew, [Alexander] Sorloth and [Connor] Wickham are all training every day and trying to get into the team"

Where do I sign up, Iíll be more than happy to attend training kick a ball about a bit and never actually make it into the team or god forbid score a goal for 30 to 120k a week

I suspect the £60+ million spent on transfers under the reigns of Allardyce and De Boer had a significant impact to the extent that under Hodgson the likes of Jach,Rakip,Sorloth etc have been signed. And I suspect it is still having an impact.

Hodgson looks at his bench and sees no real game changers and these are the parameters within which he is working.

THE board will be negligent if they are at least not considering other options.
Hughes kept Southampton up last year and Jovanacic did an outstanding job las year getting Fulham promoted.
Both have been replaced and there has been no clamour or outrage as the decisions were understandable.
Both clubs have similar records to Palace this season and neither manager was getting the best out of their resources.
Itís not like Huddersfield, Cardiff and Burnley who have limited resources.
If results donít improve before Christmas the board may have to act despite Roy being a local chap and decent fellow.
And itís difficult to accept the argument , Ďbut who would come in ?í
Do we want another Pardew situation where itís allowed to drift?

For me it's Parish.

He's outlasted all the managerial appointments he's made and yet we continue to struggle and it doesn't matter who the manager is.

In anything other than a football club he would be held accountable.

All owners /chairman of football clubs outlast their Managers of course, but as you say, its the chairman who hires the manager,so i guess the buck lands on his desk, however, any time a club hires a manager their is a risk whoever the club or manager

When Hughes took over Southampton they were not in the same position as we were when Hodgson took over.We were rock-bottom had lost all 4 games without scoring and Hodgson's first 5 games contained matches against Man C,Man Utd and Chelsea. It has been well documented that we lost all of our first 7 games, without scoring a goal, a PL first.Hodgson kept us up against all the odds.

When Hughes took over at Southampton they were outside the relegation zone in 17th and they finished the season in 17th place.

Do you think Palace should not be considering other options and let the season drift if results donít improve then ?

The Jokanovic situation is very different to RH. Jokanovic did well last season but messed up by not having faith in the players who earned promotion and spent a lot on loads of fresh faces which unsettled the squad. He ballsed up in the end.

The Hughes situation is more similar except that Palace are actually playing quite well on the whole, whereas Southampton have a few handy strikers and are crap.

If results donít improve, heíll eventually have to go, but Iím very confident they will.
