You're quite correct. We've been starved of these sort of games recently during our time in the wilderness. It's great to be going to "The Smoke" and not going to see Woking, Welling or Ebbsfleet!

I'd say the last away game that really compared to this would be when we lost at Arsenal 2-0 in The League Cup in 2001 having beaten Liverpool at Anfield the round before with one of the best strikes you'll ever see.

Nothing wrong with Ebbsfleets ground. Excellent new stand on one side and when replicated around the rest of the ground it will be superb. But I get your point.

It's always baffled me that. We get it to a lesser extent at Grimsby when season ticket holders don't turn up for cup games. You would think that a season ticket holder would be a keen enough fan to want to attend all games.

I also don't understand people not going due to the opposition. Surely you go to see your team not the opposition!

As fans we can all see it different, but I like playing lower division or non-league teams in the cups, because it’s a chance to play someone different. Although we used to lock horns regular back in both our 2nd division days, it feels like someone different now because we haven’t played since your slip down the leagues.

I’m a season ticket holder and have no beef over having to pay for cup games, it’s how it’s always been, can’t argue with £15 this day and age.

It is a chance for me to see players I might never seen in action before.I do actually like looking at the lower league games on the few occasions they are on TV.There are a few on the Grimsby side I have never seen play so I am looking forward to seeing them perform.

Thank you very much - I am not losing it !

Both Butterfield and Lawrence were at our club, indeed it was Trevor Francis who signed him for Palace from Grimsby on a free.

I believe whilst at Grimsby, Lawrence moved Butterfield from right-back into midfield as he felt he was a better midfielder than a right-back but my memory might be playing tricks on this matter.

Hahaha many of the residents of Woking would be well p***ed off with that reference about being in the smoke....I love it.

Hi I'm looking forward to coming to selhurst Park. I've always wanted to watch a game at selhurst as the atmosphere seems the best in the Premier league.
A couple of questions

Is the view at the back of the away stand that bad?

Seem as we have sold 3709 of the 4100 we where issued do you think we will receive more tickets.

Thanks

The atmosphere will be nothing like it is for a PL game as in all probability the ground will be less than half full. You won't witness 'Selhurst Park' at it's best !

In any event you will be playing a PL team but not at a PL ground - needs a serious upgrade !!!!

i believe the stand you have been allocated has a capacity of just under 10k (away allocation is normally under 3k) so i see no reason why you couldnt have more, esp as it seems early ticket sales would warrant more?

2010 decided my services were no longer required after 10 years service on the WHITEHORSE LANE FAMILY STAND

I think if the demand is there from your fans you could be offered the whole Arthur Wait stand which has a capacity of around 9,000 I believe.

Not much interest from Palace fans for this game unfortunately and I'd expext only about 6,000-8,000 of our lot turning up..

I often sit at the back of the Arthur and for me row 44 is the limit. Any further back and you can’t see the far touch line due to the TV gantry hanging down from the roof.

As for the atmosphere, it should be half decent. There has been a lot of kurfuffle this season due to the ‘Ultra’s’ relocating for next season which has caused some upset. For this game they are in their new home directly behind the goal. I expect a lot of fans who don’t usually attend cup matches to turn up and join in with the ‘singing section’.

I’m expecting a big atmosphere from both sets of fans.

Initial allocation of 4168 now sold out and we've received a further allocation of 1000.

Well done on your win yesterday, a fantastic result.

Wish I'd stuck a fiver on you, especially after you went 1-0 down.
