Possibly, but I would imagine that there could be a percentage of planets that produce societies that survive the pitfalls and achieve greater consciousness. Even if 90% fail, that could still be a lot given the potential numbers involved.

The biggest problem with estimating the possibility of visitations or even nearby alien civilisations is that we don't know all the rules. It is impossible to know.

The Drake equation, Fermi paradox and even our current grasp of physics could well be very crude attempts at understanding reality.

All is possible but I wouldn't be sure of anything.

Life itself is unlikely given the things that have to fall into place. It is likely all down to the vast almost infinite number of chances available. Apply that to life that does evolve and become intelligent and the sheer numbers involved make almost anything possible.

If technology is achievable within the laws of physics that bends space and makes travel across vast distancs possible then we have a whole lot of space for our visiting aliens to live in.

If biological life gives way to AI then ultimately the definitions of what life is might become redefined.
We are no more than biological machines after all.
A complex AI might perform all the task we can and have all the same 'emotions'. They might well reproduce and exist much as a biological life form does.
