Our academy is going from strength to strength? They’ve only just bought the space to develop it.

A stadium is being built at some point? No it isn’t. Nothing is happening with a main stand, which is partly why the HF are getting block E and not having to wait 2-3, erm, however many generations for a main stand to be finished.

You have no doubt we will stay up. No doubt hey?

The spending peaks and troughs because there’s no planning and p1ss poor scouting and Parish surrounds himself with inexperienced former players. That isn’t a successful formula unless you keep getting lucky.

It’s so badly run over the longer term that could become even worse if relegated because of the purchases made and the infrastructure so poor that your post surprises me, unless you are related to Steve.

He could get football people in to address some of this but only likes yes men and managers or former players so probably never going to happen.

Scouting has a problem if there isn't a manager more than one season you utter lemon.... Hence part of the reason of implementing a Sporting Director to oversee a structure....

Rudi you are the wrost of the lot when it comes to every problem being one persons.

SP you are correct has made some mistakes, it happens but to lay every problem at his door is just laughable.

You are some odd deluded fan of a group that feels aggrieved at every opportunity.

Games we have lost have been down to one position we are very much lacking in.

To show how much substance you have you even jump to >" I think he's Parish" *teehee....

FFP isn't based on one set of rules but 2 if you looked at the FYP fancast and read it.

What's more annoying is the group of people on this forum which go from one illogical reason to another for ways to hate a chairman of the club and if it isn't illogical it sure is repeated momentarily after every loss of a game.

1. 'It's self evident' he doesn't own as much as the other two? What does that mean?......Not sure what you are eluding to.
2. SP cannot tell the other shareholders how to spend their money...... (Oh look an illogical thing to even talk about.)
3. A shoestring which skates FFP wage structure if you bothered to look at the FFP (Go to page one, it's there and we are right on the top end of it.) Yes we can go over and incur fines but i'm pretty sure none of the share holders are eager to start paying large fines. Not to mention we havent been run on a shoestring in terms of buying certain players.
4.Yes... read the accounts to see number 3.
5. Is it part of some sense that when everything goes wrong it's SPs fault? I mean people even blamed him for the kitchen having a rat problem which is just pitiful. SP isn't at the forefront of every job at Palace that goes wrong.

I have no doubt we will survive another year in the most competitive league in the world for another year to battle against the super rich owners of the world.

Just look at the likes of Fulham who have tried to buy their way up the league and it has flopped. There are 8 teams all in the same boat as us.

Meanwhile our academy is going from strength to strength and a stadium is being rebuilt at somepoint.

All sounds logical, which will upset a hardcore of posters, who love nothing better than pontificating their theories of how badly SP is the ruining their club.
They know nothing of what goes on inside the club, just blow up snippets of information and expand to suit their own agenda.
Is it relevant that Parish has owns companies that he uses for offices and catering, the business needs to go somewhere. Nobody does anything for nothing, his wages are about £1m a year, less than most players some who are nowhere near the first team.
It wouldn’t matter if he resigned, a new Chairman would get exactly the same criticism from the same people.

Utter lemon? Scouting shouldn’t be a problem regardless. But our scouting is p1ss poor whatever the requirements. Roy has been manager for a year, not a month.

I’m fully aware of our inept dof, because he was a successful supporting striker in the 2nd tier. Hiring df is flawed because he failed at hiring or receiving hired players after leaving us.

You shouldn’t compare CEO wages with players but with other F.C. CEO’s. Do they all make extras for using their offices?

Scouting doesn't take a short amount of time to build relationships and systems to be successul but this is far from the original posts point.

DF I do not think has had enough time to create an efficient scouting system (if that's what he is doing.....I don't know)

(If we do find some good players in the future (god knows we need some) I have no doubt that it'll be the work of a manager and not DF according to posters who hold ill will towards DF and if they are bad then we know who will be blamed.)

I think the easiest conclusion to this is argument is that opinions differ when it comes to SP, if you want to make another post that goes back to people arguing the merits and faults of SP then by all means do so but going back to FFP and where the club stands on the issue is probably best.

I don’t get how everyone suddenly polarises around this issue, or why everyone seems to have to fall into a SP lover / hater camp.

I don’t get how we can criticise SP for wanting to only spend money that we have, or that we criticise SP for earning out of the club.

There are issues with the club, it seems to be run like a lower league club and our scouting, training facilities, Holmesdale Fanatics issue and academy etc all seems to be a bit iffy. This must be SP’s fault and should be easy to resolve - in that the money spent on Sorloth, for instance would have gone a long way to sorting it.

However, our playing staff are probably comparable with most other sides outside the top 6, and we are not getting the best out of them. That has to be the fault of RH.

Both SP and RH have done, and no doubt are doing good things too, to the best of their ability. We can clamour for a change, but I think that the “be careful what you wish for” point is well made.

This is not a black and white issue.

Some of the arguments being thrown up are getting more and more ridiculous. What on earth has being a board moderator got to do with anything?

He surrounds himself with inexperienced people. This extends the waiting time, and even more so because they don’t have any contacts, and that’s as well as all the mistakes coming and have come our way. Parish knows best and anyone else around who knows more or needs and makes it clear the club needs certain or more things doesn’t last very long, often by choice.

You post the most illogical response of the week then try and accuse others of being illogical.

What has the word "trust" got to do with being faithful. Trust means "firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something" and if you genuinely have a firm belief in the reliability and ability of Crystal Palace Football Club that includes Mark Goldberg and Simon Jordan's stewardship too

Why are you so desperate to read int oa name for a forum.

It's a name for a forum like any other, if i called myself CPFCtheeagle, it isn't a literal name is it? I don't fly about Selhust every week.

I trust who ever is in charge to try their best with the club and that's all anybody could ask unless you have a deity who wants to buy CPFC up your sleeve

So, i have been told, but do not have exact details, that Parish has property, in soho under the company name 'smoke and mirrors'. That is his. He then rents this out to CPFC, they rent this office space and pay 'smoke and mirrors' nicely for it - but it's the chairman's office. The chairman, Steve Parish.

That's an extra way parish gets paid by CPFC. Then there are obviously shares, bonuses, a basic wage.

I do not have any issues with parish making money out of the club, so long as it's reasonable - is this reasonable??

Smoke & Mirrors is a media, video & music production company that SP is a director & part owner of. The have offices in Beak Street, Soho a part of which is sub let to CPFC for SP himself along with the web/media/social media team. S&M have offices across the globe.

According to the accounts these premises were provided at a peppercorn rent for a few years however, following comments from HMRC this was changed to reflect ‘market rate’ in 2017.

Strangely, it seems to be where we handle our transfer negotiations too.

I think people make too much of the company name.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!
