You'd support anyone who enabled that.....I'm afraid I require a little more.

You know....like actually believing in traditional conservatism and not trying to copy the social policies of your opposition.

Ideologically I am with the ERG and one of the "Hard-right brexiteers".At the end of the day the Conservative Party is a broad church and of course I speak with those who take a slightly different view.

The blue rinsers you mean.

The same twits who voted in Cameron over Davies.

Blimey - that was 2005 and it's the MP's who vote.

In terms of the leadership challenge, whilst May won I don't think it was a great cause for celebration.

117 Conservative MPs voted against her which is a third of the parliamentary party. And one suspects that some of the 200 who voted for her might have included some who did so not because they have confidence in her but did so as they did not wish for a leadership contest at this juncture.

She achieved a higher number of votes than when she was elected to the role. Do you see that as progress for her?

That's seriously close to a contradiction.

You are essentially saying that if you are wealthy that this means that you can't make it without that privilege.

A more accurate statement would be to say that coming from that background would make it easier. However, Mogg is clearly a highly intelligent man and highly intelligent people tend to succeed (if given fair luck) in most professions they enter into that require intelligence.

I was a little too harsh....apologies.

Having met JRM on more than one occasion these are not traits that I discovered in him at all.He is a man devoted to his family and not someone haloed by self-righteousness.He is a savant,a man of erudition and someone who is always polite and exudes charm.I found him the very quintessence of respectability.

Yep...I haven't forgotten.....and as for blue rinsers....there were still plenty of blue rinsers back then....'wets' as Thatcher correctly called them.

I think Theresa May got 199 votes in the first ballot for the leadership but yesterday's challenge was different. I happen to believe that when 117 MPs representing over a third of the parliamentary party register the fact they don't have confidence in her this is not a cause for any great celebration. The thinking was that if the "Nos" were in the region of 100+ this would represent a bad result for the PM.

Who created the manifesto?

It’s quite easy to fool the public, they just tell them the bits they want to hear, none of the negatives.

Farage, Johnson and Gove past masters at deception.
