They were too nice to Zaha last time we got a point, and i think they know it. Though he will be hungry having missed a game and watched his guys win for the first time without him in a long time.

Need to start Sorloth up front though, his presence alone draws off defenders and gives Zaha more space. Something that Ayew cannot do.

Wonder when our illustrious leader will figure this out.

In the astonishing nil-nil of nearly a year ago City's fixture congestion weariness about matched our injury situation. Heroics from some of our stronger reserves stopped them scoring; I'm still disappointed we see so little of Riedwald. That's not likely to recur; they will score; we defend well and, mindful of last year's fixture, they'll be happy to settle for a modest margin. Probably 1 0. The best we can hope for is that de Bruyne won't play and the number of our players lured into the mistake of fouling him will thus restricted to zero. Puncheon and Dann are only just about returned to first team contention.

It’s my Birthday that day, so my wish would be for us not to get humiliated. An away win would be the perfect present, but I am sensing a 2-0 or 3- 0 defeat.

It’s a free hit, the game on Boxing Day is way more important...

Fairly sure we will get little from the game, just want to see us take the game to them and not sit back. Just like the 0-0 at Selhurst. Makes no sense IMO to sit back and defend.

I see this so often and fair enough on a forum of fans like this to ask for your team to go toe-to-toe but more worryingly, I hear it from Professional pundits.

The amount of time the so-called educated football lot on Sky Sports scratch their heads and say 'I can't understand why teams don't just attack them like Liverpool do with some success, they are going to lose anyway if they don't try'.

The reason clearly is that if you go ultra defensive as a team like Palace, you will lose 2-0. If you try and prove you're better than them then you go away with a 5 or 6-0 embarrassment and a terrible goal difference.

Man City have the best squad in the league and the only part of any other team that is on par with them is the front 3 of Liverpool. So this is why provided they are in form and no injuries, on 2 occasions a season City look like they will struggle against Liverpool but they also know that they'll easily win every other game and still the league so it's not like little old Palace can try the same. Its suicide.

I’ve posted elsewhere that the last team to be relegated on goal difference was Reading in 2008. We may often worry about GD but it very rarely has any actual importance in terms of who suffers the drop.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Could be worth a load of dough though as each place is worth a couple of quid.

Man City's squad is so strong they can afford to leave Sterling, Aguero and Stones on the bench and still win comfortably. Roy has nearly always made us competitive even against the big guns, but unless Zaha comes back and puts in one of his best performances then I can't really see us testing them. I think they'll win 2-0 with their bench proving the difference.
