Hodgson probably was not consulted so he will be one of three backups to Ayew TBH honest we needed a midfielder with a decent shot even if they didnt do much else. Other than Luka our current crop have hardly scored from outside the area in their PL careers. At least three pretty good opportunities were spurned wildly against Southampton Oh for a Frank Lampard or, going further back, a Tony Brown. 218 goals in 574 games for WBA garnered him 1 cap

How about some shooting practise?
