You don't get snapped cause there is no one to snap you, neither do you "apply" for a scouting company. You work as a scout if you were friends in youth football with the current President or Manager at a club. You can create your own company if your rich daddy gives you enough money to create it.

I am in neither situation of the above, so there is no way I could enter into the football business. Let alone in the big money Premier League one. They don't recruit you if you're highly professional and well trained, it's all about relations and connections. They all think they know about football players ))

That's the only thing that's stopping you mate. You've put your own barrier up. If you really wanted to do it you'd find a way - that's what successful people do. If your data and 'gift' stacks up, then that talent would be recognised if you had the drive to find a way into the scene, start building relationships, shadow someone already in the scouting game etc.

You said it's all about relations and connections - no one is born with them, you have to work on them and move in the right circles. If you're not in those circles then you get in them.

All detailed data is available to scouting departments via modern technology using the likes of 'Wyscout' and 'Scout7' which hosts of clubs use for analysis and scouting.

Incidentally 'Wyscout' is based in Italy and they include over 300,000 player profiles - their CEO is a person with the forename of 'Matteo' !!!!

I live in another country, can't afford to travel by plane to England every month and visit club headquarters to offer them portofolios and I look like Jonah Hill! Ok, that last part is a joke, but I really can't hop on a plane.

If you guys are interested and presentable, we could team up, make a small enterprise as you said (the Holmesdale scouting association) and you could be the face travelling and getting in touch with club directors. We can work on any kind of portofolio presenting hundreds of players together.

I, for one, like the time and effort you put into your posts and also your attention to detail. I genuinely hope you can make a career out of this one way or another.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

That’s not how it works Matteo. For it to work, you would have to stake your reputation and effort on it. In my experience, it is difficult for someone else to fake your sincerity, expertise and passion and if you are not staking anything in it then it will not be success. In other words, the qualities that you have, that would make the business a success are unique to you, impossible to replicate, fake or sell by proxy and if you are not able to put your all into it then it is difficult to see that there is a business at all.

I am sure if others think differently then they will shout up.

I do hope that you make a success of your passion though.

The problem is that the sort of person that is happy on their own spending hours looking at statistics and studying players, probably isn’t the kind of peoples person with the minerals to put himself out, as matteo has shown , with a ‘can’t do’ attitude.
But you are right , can’t be a double act.
