You’re probably right. Can someone explain this to me? We identify some months ago that we need to get a striker in the door early Jan, someone raring to go and ready to contribute immediately. We get the lad in for a medical, and he agrees to join on loan. Then we realize he has a long term injury? How on earth does this happen? Am I missing something here is this complete and utter schoolboys once again from Parish and Freedman?

It's was a thigh strain so he is out for 6 weeks or so. Not such an issue if you're buying him on a 4 year deal but when he's here for 5 months of football and missing a third of that then it's a bit of a no brainer to pull out.

Should we not, ourselves, have invested in a permanent deal given that, for once, this was clearly a player the manager himself wanted? Originally posted by JohnB

A highly-rated 21 year old striker who has scored goals consistently for England through the age groups from under-16s to under-21s. A great investment for the future if we think long-term rather than focus on his short-term injury. In this market, 19 million could prove a bargain. Originally posted by EagleinSF
