It’s not just the transfers I’d like to know about.
It’s how it works between Parish and the two Americans.
I believe the ownership split is roughly a third each with Parish charged with day to day running of the club and the Americans have a right of veto on certain expenditure.
All a bit vague though.
I suppose it will have to run with the great questions of our time like who shot Kennedy and how did Marilyn Monroe die!

Kennedy had her killed

And your above makes me wonder if you read any posts, "Dougie and co lined up the Solanke deal, so he has a medical at Palace, seems he has an injury and could be out till Feb.
As we need a striker who can hit the ground running so to speak , he is of no use to us,so we pull out of the deal. Bournmouth on the other hand have two excellent strikers and are quite happy to wait until he is fit. Howe sees him as a good prospect, one fore future, we don't have that luxury.
As for Clyne, Bournmouth have lost their 1st and 2nd choice RB's, so he is a perfect fit for them on loan, Palace do not need a RB. so why waste a loan?
Now i think you should appolagise to "Dougie and co.

Bloody hell. I came on here expecting to find the usual stuff, and what do I get? A well written and factual response to someone else's post!
Well done Sir.

You’re probably right.
I’d like to find out though why the Solanke deal collapsed - he’s just signed for Bournemouth for £19 million.
I wonder if these were the ‘other factors’ that led to the collapse of the Solanke move.

Can someone explain this to me?

We identify some months ago that we need to get a striker in the door early Jan, someone raring to go and ready to contribute immediately.

We get the lad in for a medical, and he agrees to join on loan.

Then we realize he has a long term injury? How on earth does this happen? Am I missing something here is this complete and utter schoolboys once again from Parish and Freedman?

Think he got the injury towards the back end of December. It's was a thigh strain so he is out for 6 weeks or so. Not such an issue if you're buying him on a 4 year deal but when he's here for 5 months of football and missing a third of that then it's a bit of a no brainer to pull out.

Should we not, ourselves, have invested in a permanent deal given that, for once, this was clearly a player the manager himself wanted?

That would indicate a long term and cohesive overall approach to transfers at the club.

In the same vein, I would like to see pigs fly at some point.

No. 19 million for an injured unproven player, just because he came from the bin dippers. It's OK if you have cash to burn - we don't.

Perhaps the Scousers can explain this in more detail ?

A highly-rated 21 year old striker who has scored goals consistently for England through the age groups from under-16s to under-21s. A great investment for the future if we think long-term rather than focus on his short-term injury. In this market, 19 million could prove a bargain.
