so rather than shooting the sensible posters who see the bigger picture than panic buying down, why dont you tell us who you think we should sign who is going to be cheap & be happy without 1st team football?

you must have ideas to form your opinion unless your just hoping for anybody to he signed, which is how we ended up with schlupp, mutch, sorloth & ayew.

Very sensitive arent you?Not shooting anyone down, itís my opinion on a message board.. and if you re-read my post thoroughly enough you may notice a couple of names I stated I would be happy with.

I think we desperately need a winger. Got no real cover in that area if Zaha or Towmsend get injured. Would love Moses back, to potentially see him, Zaha and Wan-Bissaka line up in the same team would be a great moment.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Am I misinterpreting this or am I gonna have to go on another rant about our transfer policy?

Reality is that transfer market has run away with itself that won't be remotely a surprise to common sense posters. Bubble on transfer market front will inevitably burst not least due to Machiavellian dodgy dealings.. that less than adequately resourced HMRC would have a dream time investigating. Pleased to see Palace being one of the clubs dealing within realms of reality and I can't help thinking that current remit is to either buy from affordable Premiership expertise or ploughing into affordable Championship and providing valuable step up in lower Premiership fighting opportunity e.g. likes of Waghorn etc.

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has written his regular programme notes ahead of Palace's home match against Chelsea, stating his plans for the New Year and reflecting on another top-flight year for the Eagles.

Welcome to the supporters, staff and players of Chelsea, and of course to each and every Palace fan. As todayís match marks the last of the year, here I will look forward to what we have planned in 2019.

When I penned my notes for the Cardiff City match, it was amazing to think about what we had achieved in a calendar year. I have no doubt that 2019 will be even more action-packed as we look to accelerate our growth and maintain our status as a stable Premier League club, on and off the pitch.

As usual, we begin with the January transfer window. Our squad is in good shape as we have invested significantly in recent windows, but naturally Dougie and I will be looking for suitable additions in areas where we need cover.

Shouldn't Roy be involved aswell

Should be Roy driving the recruitment and by this I mean giving his targets to SP and DF, not DF telling Roy who is available. I just wonder how much input he has into transfers given SPís programmer notes. Somehow donít think much at all. Not a manager more Head Coach.

I would suggest Roy's role IS to coach the team.
Historically he would have had more sway in getting players, but in the modern club structure you would have SP being informed by Dougie and Roy being consulred before action taken.

Modern football works like this they are more head coaches now.

Roy would speak to DF about positions or type of players he may need and then DF goes looking or based on knowledge already known then goes after players.

Some managers will already know players they want if they have worked with them before or if when they was at another club the director/scout spoke to them about them but otherwise other staff deal with it now not the managers who really just focus on first team stuff.

That system only works well if you have an experienced DF and we don't as Dougie's expertise is mainly as a failed Championship manager

Please, no more Cardiff games, 31 shots and we could have lost 1-0 had the goalkeeper not pulled off a wonderful save.
Solanke, Abrahams and Moses would be good by the end of the day on the 1st!
Maybe keep Wickham, say goodbye to the rest and say thank you!

You can't play a team with only four players in it,you need eleven.

Don't forget Roy is 71, this season or next could well be his last with us, then we start again with a new manager wanting his choice of player to suit his own system

Brighty advised Parish that Murray was past it as well. I bet in advertising production at TAG his choice of execs werenít on the same parameters of if you were here in the good times you have a chance.
