You mean they had a british passport not that they necessarily exhibited any overt signs of Britishness I.e. loyalty to their country of birth and other such trifles. Whether they were British or not the likes of you don’t want to deal with that particular threat either way so that’s somewhat of a moot point.

I think I heard today that from 2010 till the start of this year,80,000 asylum seekers have been refused status,and only 26.000 have been sent back...the others have done a magic trick and disappeared.

The majority are, yes. They have a persecuted minority... the Bahai's but I suspect the majority of this faith left Iran many years ago. My biggest issue with undocumented arrivals, as Istated earlier, is that we do not know who they are or, indeed, in some cases what country they are from.
