Don't think I ever remember Deeney hacking away at someone (he might encourage others to do it which oisn't right I agree) )but he has hardly been sent off or even booked that often.

Not saying he's that talented and some of our fans would say Troy's is past his best but the guy has some football ability.

We paid 18 million for someone who cannot control a ball in Andre Gray...

Deeney can at least do that!

BTW Didn't know Ian Wright had been to jail...yet employed by the BBC and other TV channels.

He went to prison for jumping on someone's head, boasts about trying to injury Wilf and tried to gouge out Joe Allen's eye, just to list the skullduggery that spirings to mind.

Have you ever seen him play? Thug.

As a Watford fan just a few times !

I don't deny he has done stupid things and acted thuggish but doesn't go around just hacking people - has a bit more ability than that .

losing a potential football/tv career may make many of the badboy stabber yoof out there think twice before they get into trouble with the law.

the point is not about Deeney/Wright per se.

It would be nice to demotivate all the bad boys out there. Sick and tired of reading about another stabbing victim being a 'promising footballer'.

I don’t think he is that good. Overrated. A bully and a thug I am afraid.

Wish I could recall which game, but I saw him aim for someone's shins only the other week. His talents lie in getting away with it and he's proven with his previous statements that he knows how to get away with it.

Fair point -certainly young footballers could have better role models to look up to for various reasons but Deeney was very much a "professional" (not the sort of thing he should be doing as one I accept) at the time..

Had he been some young kid we might have let him go.

CE - Are you thinking of the Cardiff game when he went for a 50/50 sliding in with the Cardiff goalkeeper?

Didn't think there was much in that but maybe as you say Deeney hasn't helped him in that regard and I certainly agree it wasn't right for him to admit we target players - hardly helps our cause.

As long as the ref on Saturday has digested them. I do not think Watford will be as bad away from home but they have a disgraceful disciplinary record. Hopefully a good game of football to be had (unfortunately I doubt it). If I was a betting man a few quid on at least one red card (possibly Wilf).
Anyway thanks for your posts Superhorns3, keep them coming

Seems he has been charged by the FA.

Charged by the FA after his latest lot of disgusting comments.

Really the FA should be investigating the whole club although it hardly helps that referees are so spineless in dealing with their disgraceful behaviour.

Reading the BBC report it's clear that what the FA is looking at is not the fact that Watford are a bunch of thugs, but that Deeney has drawn attention to the indefensible standard of the officials.
