Of all the rumours doing the rounds this one stands out for me. He is exactly what we need at the moment and would be “match ready” as Roy has stipulated is a requirement. I’m sure any negative history will be long forgotten once he’s banged in afew goals for us. Get him in.

pretty sure he was quoted as saying he was pleased our original deal fell through as Everton were a bigger / better club

I think most neutrals would agree with him and all newbies like to endear themselves with their new supporters so they often make this type of remark.

Of course. You cannot hold it against him that he was happy he ended up at Everton. Theres not going to be many foreign players out there who are going to choose Palace over Everton, given the choice. Its a fact of life unfortunately.

Fine by me as a short-term solution.

Whilst still at Besiktas he said

"About my transfer to Crystal Palace, I can say that I’m very happy the move failed," admitted Tosun.

"Because I get to stay at the club and I am doing very well at the moment in both the league and Champions League."

Then when at Everton he said

"Crystal Palace wanted me at the beginning of the season, but that did not happen, luckily, because I'm playing for a bigger club in the Premier League.

"I wanted to go to the Premier League, it's the NBA of the football world, it's the fastest, strongest league with the most expensive players, and I wanted to play in the Premier League as a small kid.

"For the time being, I want to stay in England, Everton is a traditional club, we have to play every year in Europe, and that's what I want to do with Everton."

So not really too damning was it.

Not damning at all. We would be worried if he said that he wanted to come to the Premeir League in order to battle against relegation every year.

He seems to be a player with a desire to play in Europe and there is nothing wrong with that.

I think Everton paid too much for him but he seems a decent player and I'd be happy if he came to us on loan.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Hasn't been prolific so no problem if we miss out on him or Batsuai(SP) for that matter.

Not too flattering either.
