Could he be guaranteed a start with Benteke, Wickham and Ayew in the mix?

If Benteke and Wickham go down with long term injuries again, he definitely would.

Irony of our situation is with Wickham and Benteke fit, another striker may not get much of a look in.

The Solanke deal would have been good therefore as he is still young and probably wouldnt demand a start every week.

Loan deals have to be mutually beneficial. Someone like Tosun is going to want to play week in week out.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Slight problem here, our loan aspirations refused by Everton, who will apparently now only sell and have slapped a £20m price on Tosun.

Never mind, totally out of our price range and we have Bakory coming back to us on a free,a deal much more suited to financially challenged Steve.

Bakary Sako is nowhere near Cenk Tosun's quality

Makes no difference. We don’t have 10 m let alone 20

Or his cost!

With Benteke, Wickham and Ayew do we need to sign a striker in January. The summer is always a better time to buy.

Bakary Sako might still get more goals than Tosun who might spent more time on the bench or watching from the stands. His manager has given him lots of chances, but clearly doesn't rate him much.

But the fact remains he cant get into their team and they want to offload him because he isnt good enough. He arguably never was PL quality. The fact he played Champions League is irrelevant because it was for a team that is Championship level. Big Fat Sam found this out. He also has a questionable attitude and so while he may have some goals in him he inst a suitable long term purchase, especially for £20m.
I cant see other teams fighting for him.
Surely we should be trying to buy players who are a success at their current clubs?

Anyone who is successful at their current clubs come with a not insignificant price-tag and we don't have the financial clout to be able to afford them, hence our reliance on free transfers and loans.

We are operating in the transfer market under financial constraints. It is what it is and why we are in this position is a different debate.

Hodgson clearly wants a striker this window.
He has said that neither Wickham nor Benteke are capable of playing a full match at the moment and he is also concerned about the possibility of them breaking down again.
I can’t see us buying Tosun and Everton seem reluctant to sanction a loan at the moment so I can see this going to the wire.
If we don’t get him I’m not convinced we’ll bring another striker in and think Sako ( if signed)will be the other option as Hodgson has used him as a striker in the past.

With Parish's love of old players coming back I expect he is busy scouting Fraizer Campbell at the moment as he should be cheap enough

Sako can't get into a championship team and they want to offload him. He's 30 years old, played 12 games since the beginning of the 2016-2017 season and hardly set the world alight. Is he really what we should be looking at. Would rather have kept Sorloth.
