I've just thought of a solution for the kids that come on their own and obviously don't have a card to pay for food and drink. I'll take their cash and pay on my card.....but I'll charge 10% transaction fee. A £4.50 burger will cost them £4.95. This time next year Rodney.......

Its all very well saying a cash transaction takes longer and is therefore more expensive, but what about the bank charges the club suffers for every card transaction?

Serious issue or not, you're knackered there and then if it happens at the time that you require it if you cannot use an alternative like actual cash.

On top of that why would anyone want their lives tracked any more than they already currently are. What, when and where you buy anything is nobodies business but your own. Ever had your bank cards stopped because you've been abroad? The banks tend to ask why you didn't inform them that you would be. Because it's none of your f***ing business, that's why.

I'm talking about card fees for the buyers/users as well as the sellers. If you think they'll stay considerably less once there are limited options you're deluded. I couldn't care less about the time, cost and effort to process cash for others. If I can't spend my money how I want to, or in the form I want to, they be getting any of it.

Whether you care less about it or not, it makes sense for the club to operate in that way and more and more places will adopt it as it makes business simpler. I would guess the club will bank on some like yourself refusing to buy anything for a few weeks and having a little protest but it will still be more cost effective for them even without those purchases. You may just want to take a card with you just incase the first home game of next season is played in sweltering heat and you need a bottle of water!
