Just because you spend bug money on a striker, doesn't guarantee success.

Palace spent £27 million on Bentekee, who proved his worth in his first season but has since been a disappointment. Brighton spent £18 million on an Iranian striker who I can't spell who has hardly played and never scored for them.

Palace can't afford to gamble huge amounts because previous Palace managers have gambled huge amounts with mixed success.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Cardiff have been playing Paterson as a striker and he was bought as a left-back.He did however start off as a striker before being converted into a defender.
Omar Bogle has been allowed to go out on loan to Birmingham and Gary Madine has recently been loaned to Sheff Utd.They have had their problems up front, hence their pursuit of striking options.

Mattteo, can you enlighten us!

Sure. He was my number 1 choice if you check out the Transfer Talk section.

If seen earlier, he could have come for 5-10 million. In fact, there was actually talk between Nantes and Palace last winter I think cause he was approaching his final years of contract and Palace didn't want to pay around 5-7 million for him. He exploded then for Nantes with about 15 goals so far this season.

So bummer.....

We've to have more ambition. Doesn't mean he has to.

I think it's 50/50 for cardiff.. fulham and hudds look down - Raneiri is doing with fulham what will all expected to see him do at leicester.

I can't see Newcastle struggling, but they are in the mix, it's still too close to call. Our goal difference is key.

This was once a quality forum....

We need some new blood of quality to mix things up.
Otherwise we are deep in it because we cannot best ordinary teams at Selhurst.

Awful news for all involved. Wonder what happens with the transfer...does this mean Cardiff have lost the lot? Or was he coming over to sign?
