Fulham looked decent in the first half without being particularly threatening.
It was disappointing to see us sitting back against a team with one of the worst defensive records in the league.
Second half was better and if we can eventually get Zaha and Batshuayi on the field together we will hopefully attack with more intent and approach games more positively.
I also liked the look of Sako when he came on; two dangerous crosses into the box and we know he has a decent shot on him.
Ayew worked hard today and does contribute but I hope that Roy doesnít select him out of loyalty in preference to players who carry a greater attacking threat.

Watching Fulham all over Brighton the other day I could see why Roy had us behind the ball. They kept going at them, chance after chance after chance. The last thing we need was going going behind by one or two when weíre still not a high scoring team really, before today. Mitrovic also had to be controlled and we did that well, along with cutting out most of the Balls into the box, especially around our full backs. It was a very good defensive performance and this week Royís compete all over but donít put ourselves at risk but then go for it more worked this week and may keep working with quality coming in up front.

Because it is good to see a player with a decent pass. Much needed in this side.

Who does he come in for?

At the moment he is a luxury player we canít afford to play. The rest of the midfield cover a load of ground or offer a physical presence. As much as I like him and hope he is a success, I canít see him getting in to the side the way we are set up.

There is no creativity or guile with Luka or Jimmy Mac.

Meyer made a difference today and he was an important part of the game killing second goal.

MacArthur has lost his scoring touch and looks completely out of sorts in the final third so I would bring Meyer in there in a 4-3-3.

In a 4-4-2 he should be played against the likes of Fulham at home for my money, again for MacArthur.

I can understand keeping 8 players behind the ball, as we did in the first half today, against the top teams but not Fulham.
Itís seems churlish to be critical after a really good result but I would like us to attack more at home and take the game to the opposition, in particular when the opposition are not that strong.
We have a strong defence and good organisation so surely we can allow more players to break forward and attack.

When we dominate games at home, we don't win. Let the opposition have the ball and we'll play to our strengths - good organisation and counter-attacking. Every time we think we *should* be able to roll a team over at home, they mug us off.

Agreed. Good to see Roy use the bench at last!

Schlupp is an odd one. Sometimes you think why is he playing, but thats 4 goals now and he has a decent shot from a short backlift and knows where the goal is.
Roy obviously rates him and he played well today. I can see him continuing to start matches and Jimmy Mac probably being the one to be sacrificed.
I can also see his value rising.
On the other hand I saw nothing today in PVA that would suggest he is worth the sums being suggested.

Why's he on the bench at all then?

Perhaps beacuse the game plan for today didn't hinge on an 11th hour transfer on Thursday but the W-owl thought he might be able to bring some quality from the bench.

Iíd be tempted to play Schlupp at left back if PVA doesnít up his game soon. He has been disappointing recently both defensively and on the ball.
