When we dominate games at home, we don't win. Let the opposition have the ball and we'll play to our strengths - good organisation and counter-attacking. Every time we think we *should* be able to roll a team over at home, they mug us off.

That's exactly right. Our strength is built on great organisation and discipline and then exploiting the space left upfield with pace, especially late in the game. We frustrate, we annoy and then we strike.

I agree - Cardiff was an excellent example

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Ayew's best game by a mile' by Midlands Eagle

Ayew added some product to his industry against Fulham. He drew several fouls two of which resulted in yellow cards for Fulham players so well done today Ayew.

Need to keep up that level to end of season now

Interestingly, I took Painter’s “who” to be ironic and not at all disrespectful. Anyway; let’s celebrate the 3 points, especially as Bournemouth (typically) seem to be caving in against Cardiff.

I don't get your reasoning, surely its better if Bournemouth win, we won't catch them, even though they have hit a bit of bad form, but a Cardiff win puts them 3 points behind us, another win for Cardiff and a loss for us puts us on equal points.

He means the 3 points looks even better now, as Cardiff won. If we had lost we would be in the s*it now.

I dont get yours. We can close 7 points in 14 games on Bournemouth. Whereas Cardiff have no chance of catching us.

Our season has changed. Look up.

On that we agree

Quite good business arrangement with Chelsea. Struggle early season. They then lend us a classy player who fills an obvious gap at a surprisingly good rate (£1m loan fee compared to £8m they quoted Spurs). We rise up table and dent the chances of Chelsea competitors.

Meanwhile no chance whatever of signing said player in the summer. £40m. Are you crazy? Bats will be battering them in for Chelsea next season.

I’d be tempted to play Schlupp at left back if PVA doesn’t up his game soon. He has been disappointing recently both defensively and on the ball.

And it was PVA who sat off Ward-Prowse and turned his back on the shot instead of challenging him and trying to get a block in.Not resolute defending at all, but I have repeatedly asserted that defensively PVA is found wanting and is better going forward than defending which tends to be the trait of the modern full-back.

We are on the same number of points as we were at the same stage last season (where we finished 11th). Bearing in mind, though, that that included losing the first 7... so I can’t work out whether being at the same level is good or bad. Still, we are 4pts clear and we weren’t at this stage last season.

True enough. Many crosses came in from the right, almost none from the left
