This is simply true. There is nearly none in my home country. First year i moved here and my mother visited me, one day she told (just a daily chat) `i have seen a black lady today in the market but she was beautiful etc etc` and continued the story. I told her that this is simply racist because she needed to express the color and worse, she said `but` after while expressing that the lady is beautiful She couldn`t figure out what was racist about it and never after she agreed this sentence was racist. My Polish colleague at work also said that her mother was shocked about diversity in the office and used some offensive comments about them.

However, those are 60+ year old traditional ladies who were raised in closed environment decades ago. I think it is obvious to expect from new generation who is engaged with all speedy communication nowadays to get over this bias. And this (racist offense) happens in Spain, Italy as well and as international games are where we need to apply international law (or common sense), there shouldn`t be any difference between racist offense and throwing an item to referee.

If you want to punish the team and the country to make yourself feel better then fine.
But if you seriously think you are going to undo prejudice in virtual single culture countries then that is wishful thinking.

Of course you won’t ‘undo’ predjudice. What a stupid thing to say. Racism will always be there.

What you can do is send a message that won’t prevent racist attitudes amongst some of the crowd but it will make them think twice about publicising them for 90 minutes. And I see nothing wrong with that. Even if it ends up with people self policing not because they are anti racist but because they don’t want some utter moron screwing it up for everyone else.

Same goes for clubs with t***s that run on the pitch and lamp people. Ban, fine and points deduction. Same same.
