I was watching last night and couldn't understand why they'd boo Di Maria. Makes no sense. Surely the only times where it's a reasonable for a booing are examples such as Sol Campbell to Arsenal.. or Figo to Real Madrid.

Even though Murray now plays for Brighton he still gets a great reception from us and rightly so.

Because he and us would booooo Pardew to death.

From my time, I can only really recall Routledge and Julian Gray who both decided that they would be better off away from us. I seem to recall Gray coming back to Selhurst with Coventry and getting an ear full, before becoming a Palace player again briefly?

I might have this incorrect but it’s how I think things developed!

Didn’t Bostock get some grief on his return to Selhurst?

Would that be Kevin Miller who walked out on us for a free transfer and signed for Barnsley. He got pelters when they came to us and had the game of his life including saving a penalty. Never sure about booing a player I think that just motivates them more.

Yeah, he was crap until that game, then as you say, he played a blinder, talk about ironic.

I vaguely recall us playing Hull at home at the back end of 2010 and drawing 0-0. Bostock was on the bench and one of their players gets injured in the first half, from the AW it looked like Bostock was coming on and the sound of the boo's was incredibly loud. From memory it was Jay Simpson who was subbed on. Not sure how alike they looked, but there was a lot of confusion in the ground that evening!

Actually I think they ended up winning the game 0-1 or even 0-2, he saved a penalty right in front of us at the Whitehorse.

Susmik says he met him and he was a nice bloke, but the way he went on strike against QPR last game of the season when he let in 6 was a disgrace and if ever a player deserved to get slaughtered on their return, it was him. Shame it didn’t do us much good though.

This might be a completely false memory, one of those is sounds like it should have happened so I've invented it type things... But l remember Miller at the QPR gamf coming to collect the ball from the Palace supporters and someone launching at hamburger at him which was about the only thing he caught all day.

Yes Kevin Miller was who I was thinking about. Maybe in the past, we were Championship or League One and anyone who left us went up a division and never came back to play against us. I remember correcting someone behind me in Whitehorse Lane Family Stand who booed Nigel Martin when he came back with Leeds. Top keeper.

Love this HOL/pub chat. Start a post about booing ex players and it turns into quality of beer!

Everyone has an opinion, I’m sure I read that Heineken’s the most drank beer in the world now. Anyway I’d take a cold bottle of Heineken at half time any day, over a warm carlsberg. Obviously it would be a warm Heineken if served at Palace , card only apparently though from now on, I’ll have to start getting rid of moody tenners to the program sellers outside the ground now.
