Biiiig delay on this, but here goes. Been living life rather than wallowing in the despair and amoeba rich density of this forum

Point 1 – I think perhaps this is your own prejudices in play here.

Not really. I come from a world where image, message and PR are paramount. Politics is savage. He is a political figure whether he likes it or not. Clever people get it, and are successful. Stupid people don't and continually make the same or new mistakes and eventually die off. As always.

He is continually making entirely avoidable mistakes considering the context of his situation and getting too emotional, plus putting together hatchet job journalism on issues that could actually have been very powerfully exposed (BBC prime example – 'take down the BBC' haha. Maybe take a Youtube editing class or get someone who knows what they are doing to put a program together). He is clearly not cut out to be a successful leader. A pioneer in some eyes, maybe. Leader, no way. Sacrifical lamb, yes.

Point 2 – So who else is pushing back?

Who else is pushing back? His followers. People who share the same viewpoint. Someone will eventually appear that is actually clever enough to know how to build their argument and therefore this 'movement' in a credible and attractive fashion. That does not mean it needs to appeal to the middle classes. It does need to do more than just casually appeal to his entire potential audience AND those on the fence. You need passionate involvement on a mass scale. Not happening now.

Point 3 – Reacting physically to being assaulted is 'over the top'?

Throwing a milkshake on someone is not exactly like being punched in the face. Therefore there are ways to respond that are proportional to the initial offence committed. We all know that. Technically yes it's assault, but, yet again, as well all know very well there are degrees of being assaulted. If I went out and threw a milkshake (note, McDonalds definitely have milk in their milkshakes) over a random person in the street I reckon at best I'd get a fine or caution for common assault and maybe criminal damage at a stretch. If I threw it over the queen, or a figure of importance? Immediate prison. Also knowing a copper it is insanely easy to get off scot free. Also, if it were the other way around I'm sure some snow flaking would be occurring right now, 'it was only a milkshake etc. etc.' I get the he's always under threat narrative but sometimes just have a little pause before being partisan.

Point 4 – Probably? More intelligent people like....?

I don't have the answer to 'like' but someone will emerge IF the issue is that pressing. At the moment it's clearly not but that may well change. If I believed everything you said then it will, but I'm yet to be convinced. As we've discussed before, people simply aren't uncomfortable enough (yet).

Point 5 – You have obviously been watching selective clips of this. What you are commenting on is out of context. This guy had been harassing Robinson for hours and indeed women had made complaints to Police that he had pushed them out of the way to get to Robinson previously.

This has been pointed out to me, in which case, I apologise for jumping the gun on the way I had interpreted the build up to the incident.

Point 6 – Has the media and certain political figures celebrated that?

Celebrated is a subjective interpretation of the media coverage. Focused on would be better. Probably not as it's old news. I imagine the first time it happened to Robinson it was focused on but no one likes 'olds'. Not interesting.

But in a world where acid attacks happen it’s only human to react if someone throws any liquid at you.

Human, maybe. But that assumes everyone else that is human would react in the same way. Not true. Also using that explanation as a viable reason for the over the top reaction? Also no.

Of course different people would react differently in the same way not everyone throws milkshakes. Or applauds those who do.
Over the top? Maybe but what would you do in the same situation? If it happened to a lot of people I suspect the other party would need the straw from his milkshake to take his meals through for a while.

Probably sarcastically applaud them, try a bit and comment on the flavour. Use intellect and take the higher ground (in this instance)

If it was me as a public figure and considering the circus that surrounds me, as Stevey boy Ingerland, in this scenario getting punchy has no benefit

Then you are obviously a more evolved and rational person. Albeit one who’d probably have to get used to being covered in dairy products on a regular basis.

While I certainly dislike people using a person's religion against them without any addition information, I'm not terribly keen on Islamophobia being deemed a 'social evil' so agree with rejecting the definition. Ultimately religion isn't something innate or unchangable, like race or sexuality. It's a belief in something. A whole selection of beliefs rather.. and so disliking or assessing a set of beliefs this way or that shouldn't be taboo.
