I've no doubt that antisemitism exists in the Labour party itself....However, while we can point to Corbyn and McDoughnut..I think it's more a problem around the edges of the party with some of its activists.

Mostly I regard most of the criticism directed at Labour over antisemitism to actually be anti Jewish nationalism....or what they call zionism. Some people think that these are basically the same thing and I see that argument but essentially I think there is a difference.

I have to be fair to Labour and say that this just fits in with their general opposition to nationalism.....or should I say, successful nationalism....which would be more accurate.

I say this as a nationalist myself who isn't opposed to zionism or Jews....But also as someone who recognises the injustice that the Palestinians have endured historically since a bit before and from the creation of modern Israel......I don't think it's a situation that has a happy ending.

I regard Jews as probably one of the most important groups in the world....The listing of Nobel prizes and notable people in history relative to their population size is ample proof of that......They are literally the example of successful genes through evolution in action. I certainly wouldn't want to be an enemy of theres.

However, they should be open to criticise the same as anybody else.

And the environment we find ourselves in means that they are effectively a 'protected' class.

While I'm a heavy critic of Labour and it's not exactly a secret that Corbyn is a major anti Zionist.....I find that the party itself has been subject to harsh treatment.

That said, it's hard to have much sympathy considering their stance on opponents of unacceptable elements in Islam.....where they have a conflict of interest due to their reliance on that community for votes.

It’s disingenuous to call this anti semitism. It’s racism pure and simple.

You have inadvertently highlighted a problem with the 'obsession' with racism.
The anti Semitism might well be real but it is not racism. Jews are not a race. It is a religion that has caused many of its followers to adopt a form of selective breeding by only marrying other Jews.

The whole problem with 'race' is that it is a term of convenience. There are people who share genetic characteristics through isolation or selective associations but the picture is much fuzzier around the edges.
We humans like our simple identification labels so we go with Black, White, Asian etc, but that has proved to be a rather divisive trend.
That said it is equally ridiculous to ignore the differences between people to create the exaggerated impression of some sort of species homogeny. That is rather like employing genetic communism.

My issue with modern race politics is that there is a constant call for people to be 'equal' and harmonious and yet the trend is for people to rally behind their identity to gain political influence. This is a contradiction.
