May is working within the existing legal framework. It's not as if we're welcoming these fighters back with open arms.

It's a bit rich to paint the country as barmy as if this girl is the rational one in this equation. You'd hardly have her on the babysitter shortlist would you?

That is a highly salient point

She went to Syria to reproduce and generate the next generation of Jihadi fighters. She has succeeded

So the poor little blighter is probably going to be indoctrinated at birth to be simply cannon fodder.

I suspect Syrian social services will probably not bother taking the little chap away from his mother.

? I'm hardly criticising public workers....interesting to see a socialist come out with a sentence like that.

I shouldn't say this (surprise, surprise) but she clearly could have produced Jihadi fighters more easily in England. Not as if they would have had to have spoken a word of English or had anything but contempt for England in their own enclave/ community in the very country that protected them.

Excellent suggestions and refreshing to see that rather than trolling people with opposing views the internet can be used for people to come up with better ideas as a collective group than individuals.

Seems like the debate surrounding this girl (and the debate I've had with my friends about bringing back capital punishment for the person who stole my bike) has shifted to the needs of the offender again rather than the needs of the innocent people.

Her collective have murdered innocent people going about their daily business all around the world. She chose to be part of it. We don't really think about the people who were innocently crossing Westminster Bridge on day then stopped to take a photo of Big Ben then seconds latter run down by a lunatic in the name of a cloud fairy. All the innocent victims didn't get to raise their kids safely or see their families again. Nothing justifies these kind of actions or any kind of forgiveness.

I have no sympathy at all with this stupid woman but believe this decision is wrong.

Removing citizenship from someone born abroad to foreign parents and only a naturalised UK citizen is possible justified in certain circumstances. Removing it from someone born and brought up in UK ( such as most on Hols) because one parent may have , or could, claim foreign citizenship is basically wrong. Have you an Irish, Polish, Italian parent or grand parent? ‘Thin end of a wedge’ comes to mind.

In this case she should be allowed to return to the UK if she wants - at her/ families expense - and then be arrested on arrival for questioning and charged with whatever criminal offence /s she found to have committed.

But 400 British ISIS fighters have already done so.

Check your dustbins carefully......

Anything to do with May, the Home Office and the new stooge Javid is spectacularly ridiculous.

Yeah, just a regular housewife a bit like Rose West

People tend to empathise from a point of personal bias.

We are outraged by her behaviour and want her punished because we empathise her victims: the children she enabled her husband to murder, the genocidal ideology she chose to join, her rejection of our civilised society, of us. The pure effrontery of her now nonchalantly extending the begging bowl without hint of genuine remorse.

Others empathise with the criminal because they can only stretch to imagine themselves in that situation. Alone in a refugee camp with a newborn. They want them treated as they would wish to be treated.
Something is off with these types of people if they cannot see that choices between right and wrong led to their predicament, choices they surely must empathise with to arrive at a position of sympathy for her. Choices they can see themselves making in similar circumstance.

So what's wrong with the 'Thin end of a wedge'?

Did you have a problem with the introduction of civil partnerships that inevitably led to gay marriage just a matter of years later?

Perhaps that was a slippery slope you agreed with perhaps? This one just happens to be one I agree with.

Besides this kind of thing has happened before.

So let me get this right.

If I am an ISIS fighter, I can return to the UK.

If I am not an ISIS fighter, I can't.

I am no longer British, but my child is.....

Does she really want to return to this barmy country?

Of course she does, for the FREE housing, FREE money, FREE education FREE NHS for her and ALL her family....FREE benefits forever, no one is ever going to give this lowlife terrorist supporter a job are they?Having said that she'll probably end up on a reality show and be paid a small fortune for it!

That'll be the day........

As to your second question.
My only issue with civil partnership was that it excluded the majority in the sane way as marriage excluded a minority.
