Mike Dean (50) from The Wirral in Cheshire.

His two previous Palace matches this season were both also away - the 2-0 win v Fulham and the 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth ( anyone remember the late penalty which probably cost us a point?)

Mr Dean’s last match was Sunday’s clash between Man City and Chelsea.

He always reminds me of a headmaster does Mike Dean... Has a pretty scary stare as well!!... Apparently he is on a career 99 red cards given out... Will he want to make it 100 on Sunday???... He strikes me as the type that would!!

As a matter of interest are there any referees that you would be really happy to officiate? Perhaps we should have a popularity list on the forum

This is true!!... I actually quite like the tubby little ref... He's a bit boss eyed as well... can't remember his name... Think he's quite new in the Prem.

Mike Dean doesn’t bottle penalty decisions.

It is vital that we eschew holding and grappling on opponents in our penalty area at corners and free-kicks.

I hope Roy has drummed this into our players.

Yeah he robbed us at Bournemouth. And didn't their ground used to be Dean Court? Typical!

He handled the match well, but it was probably a bit of a doddle for the officials.

I couldn’t see intent in either of the penalty shouts and would have been surprised to have seen them given.

Not sure why the Doncaster player on the 2nd shout was holding his head when it clearly hit his arm whether a penalty or not ?
