Couldn't care less if we've won the FA Cup.

Strange comment for a Palace fan !

I would be very happy if we won the FA Cup.

I have been in conversation with a chap who is very knowledgable about football, regarding teams who have got to an FA Cup final and then been relegated in the same season.

Wigan are the only team to have actually won the FA Cup and been relegated that season. That was back in 2013 and they have never returned to the PL.Portsmouth got to the final in 2010, were relegated and have has spells in League One and League Two.They have not returned to the top flight.Brighton got to the FA Cup final in 1983 and it too them over 30 years to get to the PL !

All these supporters had their day out in the sun for the final but one can only speculate as to whether this was any compensation for the heartbreak of relegation.

TBF I and half a dozen others could've told you that

I know a lot of fans put the cup above all else, but i would think the majority would consider survival more important. IMHO

Weirdos. 1 game from Wembley and some people aren't arsed. Thankfully there's more than enough fans who do give a f***

There seem to be 3 main perspectives

1. The league is the priority but a cup win would be mind blowing and you've gotta take risk in this life

2. Protect the business at all costs, the cup is a distraction to that goal

3. Go for the glory at almost any cost

I'm in group 1. I think most people are. The hope is important, the building of memories and dreams...

I knew a Charlton fan. He said they lost their love of the PL after a while...getting beaten and beaten and beaten...atmosphere lost hope...

Maybe a cup run, when they were on the up, would have galvanised them...

My lad is beyond excited about the possibility of another trip to Wembley. He's less fussed about Leicester away...

Maybe I need to sit him down and explain it's all about business and finance.

But no. I'm exactly the same. Even if I understand the priorities.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

On the other hand, Leicester City lost an FA Cup final and were relegated the same season. I wonder what became of them! (Alright, so they lost and were relegated in 1969 - the first FA Cup Final to be televised in colour, incidentally). I believe the Foxes still hold the record of most FA Cup Final appearances without winning.

Wimbledon won the FA Cup, what happened to them? Go for it I say. There's no reason we can't do well in our remaining games in the PL and get to Wembley in the cup.

I expect that many who claim they are not interested will still hypocritically make their way down Wembley Way should we make it there, rather than offering their ticket to me at face value!

Genuinely not sure what the point of us being in the Premier League is other than trying to have a crack at the cups. We were 10 minutes away a couple of seasons ago and winning either of them would be the best day in our history.

I can also never understand why anyone wouldn't want to see us in the Europa League. Even if it made us more likely to go down, winning a cup and getting some away days against someone like Sporting Lisbon, Villareal, Feyenoord etc would be absolutely superb.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Utter f-1n tosh! These are exceptions, not rules. Watford, Everton, Villa, Hull, Newcastle, Man City, Forest, Sheff Wed, Middlesbrough, Southampton, West Ham, Stoke.....all contemporary losing finalists, all didn't get relegated.

Qué sera, sera....
