Mmm... As an ex Policeman who signed the Official Secrets Act when I left I am unable to share any stories relating to the title of this thread due to risk of being arrested!!

I usually opt to poo at work on company time. Not sure it's the same thing, but even if I have a turtle head in the morning I still go to work and have a paid poo. Even use more toilet paper than I would at home.

Not only bumping my own thread, but expenses used to be a good one.

[Link]

"A Welsh Conservative MP has been charged in connection with allegations over false expenses claims.

Chris Davies, MP for Brecon and Radnorshire, is accused of two offences of forgery and one of providing false or misleading information for allowance claims.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said he was due to appear before Westminster magistrates in March." (BBC website)

mine weren't quite on the scale of criminal investigation, but scams included :

Charging for the Dartford Toll, when you'd actually swerved it.
Private car Mileage (++)
Sleeping in the van and submitting a fabricated receipt for a B&B
Calling friends in Europe in 'accidental' phone calls when your mobile keyboard wasn't 'locked'

I have it on good authority that when Allders caught fire late one night, the London Fire Brigade pulled out carpets, furniture, TV's etc. that were all badly damaged, so that they could get in and out easier to fight the fire.

I have a few police friends.

One of them said (1970's) "Don't hand any cash into Lost Property, because that'll go towards the police Christmas do"

Another (retired) said he never disclosed his previous employment to the police, in case of retribution.

I know of other village police who regularly made check-ups on divorcees to see they were 'looked after'
