I used to love that era of TV. Banana Splits, Batman, Lost in Space, Land of the Giants, Mission Impossible.

I watched an old ‘Land of the giants’ a few weeks ago on one of the obscure cable channels no-one watches and it was so well made for its time. It looked like they made massive sets for every scene to make them look small, no cgi back then.

Much as I dislike being pendantic, it was actually called "Alternate Title" in the UK as the record company were nervous about releasing a song with the word "git" in the name, as it was deemed to be a controversial word back then. It was released under its original name in the US, the word being meaningless there.

You leave me hanging on your every word.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Continuing the pedantry, that's in fact a paradox because you watched it. Now had you put an 'else' in there...

Apologies for teasing. Land of the Giants is one of those famous shows that I somehow managed to completely avoid. Maybe it clashed with something sensible that I was forced to watch, like Blue Peter. No VCR back then and no 2nd TV set either!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Land of the Giants was pitched against Doctor Who, if memory serves. My junior school was divided between the devotees of each. I was a Doctor Who man meself (but not of the sh*tfest it's morphed into these days).

My first wife told me she was leaving me because I wasn't a Monkees fan.

I thought she was joking.

Then I saw her face.

Now I'm a believer.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

I was both, along with, as someone mentioned ‘Lost in Space’ now that really is s*** if you watch it now, but as kids our road used to clear when we all rushed in to watch it.

And what about ‘The Time Tunnel’?? How good was that?

A lot of these old series are on the Horror Channel but I find them unwatchable as they obviously haven't discovered widescreen yet and the pictures look awful
