I'm always amazed by some of the negativity the HF get on here. The 15 year old virgin tag has been going since they formed in 2005, 14 years ago, which would make them in their late 20s now.

I suspect that if they were around 35 or more years ago, I would probably have been with them. Bit old for that malarky now though, although I appreciate their effort.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Okay, serious answer. Very few people on here will know the HF and certainly not to the extent to know what their daily life is like. I don't know why you would have that expectation.

Also, as you can see, supporters are very divided about them and feelings run high for various reasons. You can't expect those who don't appreciate them to stay on mute just because you asked them to.

1. Thought there'd be a couple of Fanatics on here
2. Didn't ask for their daily life, wanted to know what a match day would be like
3. If you're just going to be a stick in the mud when a young person has a question about a club he doesn't know much about you're better off shutting your trap. Doesn't matter if you're "feelings" run against the topic. My question wasn't a platform to blast the HF

In fairness, the topic is titled a day in the life of...

If you want to know all about them, here's a couple of links to their specific sites, where you are more likely to get a sensible answer.......

It is sad you didn't really get what you asked for in your original post.

As far as I have seen, the HF largely turn up to matches, sing throughout and then go away again. They do occasionally get a bit more extreme, for example some of them letting off flares in the London underground. And there has been the occasional run-in with away fans. I believe some of them aren't entirely teetotal and have even been known to put stuff in their noses.

What they do well is that during the matches they link arms, go quiet then suddenly loud, jump up and down in unison and do all sorts of things to entertain themselves. Sometimes including jumping on seats or diving over them but mostly just good-natured, decent lads largely in their 20s I would guess. Probably no worse behaved than the PTID guys in the Arthur who I think are probably mostly older.

Occasional run away you mean. Anyway, I thought you were their top boy after you begged them to let you stay in block E? Nobody better to advise really

Whether all you moaners are jealous of the HF that's another question, met some of them coming back on the train from Doncaster the other Saturday, not what you make them out to be at all.
Blokes in their 30's and some older, real supporters of our club.
In my humble opinion they do a great job home and away which is more than can be said for some of the posters that sl*g them off on this site.

As you know from reading my posts so assiduously, I did not beg anyone for anything nor would I. I did choose to introduce myself to some members of the HF to find out their views. Many people on this august site prefer 'cerebral hygiene' instead of finding out facts, I get that but it's not how I roll.

I infer that you are intimating that you think the HF is a cowardly group, presumably unlike your brave self. When you take brave action of any form, rather than sitting behind a keyboard, do let us all know.

Did you get their autographs before or after you'd done licking their boots?

There's not a hierarchy of fans, we're all equal under the same banner: from the lad in Canada who's clearly passionate, to Maple being the leader of block E, to all those who go every week, or not as circumstance or finance dictates.

They just own a drum and sing the same 3 songs incessantly. Just because the club use them as their USP to the point that they're now over a barrel, that shouldn't put them on a pedestal.

Brave action? Such as what? I don't involve myself in football violence, it's for idiots. I went along with the SMHS a couple of times when I was younger to see what the crack was and it was just a lot of running towards people, then running away again. Nothing much happened and there was nothing brave about it. I got a clump at Southampton away a couple of years ago, wrong place wrong time, that's about it. I go out of my way to avoid getting a banning order like most sane people.

I'm always happy to meet up for a pint with anybody although I'm unlikely to get to another home game. I will be up for Arsenal and Spurs away if anyone fancies a pint and a chat in person, stay in touch.
