Deflection. And probably because you can’t defend the indefensible. Who’d have thought it?

Who am I defending? I’ve asked once for you not to suggest that and clarified what I’m arguing, and yet I’m the one deflecting? Childish mentality.

You’re overtly lying; it’s pointless debating with someone who’s view is based on a lie and throws accusatory lies on top of that. If you want to discuss reality, I’m all for it.

You’re saying that there isn’t conclusive evidence that it’s anything to do with this film, when this sort of thing with gangs wielding machetes is a new thing just when this film is in that very cinema. Hmmm. I’d call that defending them, yes. Odeon are showing it but with heightened security. Heightened security only when that film is on. What more proof do you want until you eventually agree that the people turning up and in gangs are a problem there?

Actually I’m not bothered if you don’t. I know you’ll disagree until the next incidents. Pointless discussing this with someone who thinks this way and one reason why this hasn’t been addressed.

‘This sort of thing’ - it’s only happened once.
‘This film is in that very cinema’ - it’s in every cinema, so whilst there’s one venue where it’s happened, there are thousands where it hasn’t. Nonsense logic.
‘Heightened security only when that film is on’ - cinemas heighten security for numerous reasons and numerous films. Not even close to exclusive for this film.

If a hit rate of 1 incidient (which wasn’t even at a f***in showing) out of thousands of showings is enough to convince you of an indisputable correlation, then that’s up to you, but by any reasonable, statistical measure, that correlation is a nonsense.

This reply is the exact sort of denial I’m talking about.

Have a good day.

I mean everything I’ve said is factual - there’s very little written there which is opinion, but fair enough.

Wishing you a good day too.

I don’t disputed their right to make the decision, I’m just disagreeing with it - I’m not arguing anything other than my own opinion on the decision.

On these ‘28 incidents’ - why the lack of detail on any of them? Vue put out a statement on the Birmingham incident, nothing on any other. It’s too vague and too convenient.

How did this movie attract this violence? Given none of the perpetrators had seen it.

I very clearly stated I didn’t think the decision was racist, but that it fed a narrative. This film is very obviously what would be considered a part of modern urban culture ; that’s not offensive or racist to say. The perpetrators were predominantly Asian, not black, by the way.

This is a remake of a Youtube video that has been viewed several hundred thousand times. I think we are both the wrong target audience if you know any teens ask them if they have heard of the film maker and the film I suspect they have even if they hadn't seen it.

By the way how do you know the perpetrators have not seen it? I think that's a guess on your part. On LBC a young woman who supports the movie said she has seen it 3 times in the last 5 days.

As I said before for a certain age group I think this is a happening.

Yep, that’s what people are implying. Possibly amusing if you’re not there with your family or a copper or relative as the machetes are swung near near your body or face.

How to invent a reality and form an opinion based on said invented reality.

This is what is being implied by the people who say it has nothing to do with the gangster film in question. They took machetes when they were watching Frozen 2 and there happened to be another gang there with machetes. Of course. Luckily so far I’ve not had to experience these mobs so I can still laugh at the absurdity of excusing it all or suggesting the gangster film had nothing to do with 2 gangs there with machetes. Classic. Priceless denial.

Because obviously those are the only two possible scenarios here.

To once again clear up the reality of what happened (you’d think someone as opinionated as you on the issue would at least do the most basic of research, but who needs facts, aye?); they viewed neither Frozen 2 or Blue Story - it’s almost like they weren’t at the cinema to a watch a film after all! But of course, they must have been there inspired by the film they haven’t seen and that wasn’t showing at the time; it’s so clear!

Gangs that own these weapons they’ve no doubt used, because we know they do, don’t need inspiration to have another fight after however many they’ve had before. It’s the location, witnesses, innocent victims and danger that’s changed, hence the film being pulled. I’ve said this already. They don’t need the hassle or loss of revenue or costs of security. Right call. Keep everyone else safe and they can wait for dvd or whatever release.
