I wonder how good you would be at kicking a ball with force and accuracy, even 70 minutes after taking a boot and set of studs at full force, to your crotch?

This sounds like something that might go on at an S&M party.

Not that I've been to one, I must stress, although watching Palace at home is an unbearable torture.

The thing is he did change the team today from the one which I saw at Burnley last weekend. The midfield changed and the goalkeeper.
Apart from Meyer there is little creativity available. It is ok if your forward players are running into spaces for average midfielders to slot the ball into but today with the crowded area there was nowhere to run so our lack of creativity from midfield became more evident.
It just was not meant to be today.

The problem is: there are too many 'todays'. Almost every home game.

Yeah, so what? s*** ref, but he can't give what he doesn't see in fairness.

Tommo should've had a penalty too, which he did see. Brighton tested the ref early with a couple of nasty challenges and sussed he was weak and capitalised on it.

We didn't react to that fact in the slightest.

The Knockaert challenge ....... he was clearly the designated player to ’do a number’ on Luka by Mr Houghton and escaped wrongly with a yellow. No one returned the compliment and in my opinion this is et another example of our softness. Especially today given the fact that it was a derby against bitter rivals we did not possess that nasty side that you need and as i have said in another blog, this match was tailor made for Kouyate, In years gone by we had the players who would sort matters out, alas now I can online think of CK and perhaps Meyer. We are far too nice and suffer as a result particuarly providing protection to the likes of Zaha.

Agree totally, they set out to try and injure Luka (amongst others) and any unbiased competent referee would have sent of the little French runt....however we dont get referees like that.....so well done Mr Pawson for f***ing up, just like many of your colleagues have in the past. Im sure you will be forensically assessed and patted on the back for another job well done!!

Apart from that, we were s*** and got what we deserved, nothing!!

We can make as many excuses as we like about they should have had a player sent off, they were overly physical, they scored with their only shots etc.
The fact is we were not good enough and have not been good enough all season at home.
Roy’s way of playing at home doesn’t seem to suit any striker.
Batshuayi had nothing set up for him yesterday and doesn’t look the sort of player to create something for himself as he’s a poacher.
But even when we’ve tried Benteke, Ayew or Wickham the service has still been poor.
There seems to be a myth building around the amount of chances we create at home as I can only recall Burnley and Cardiff where we created lots of chances.
We missed the odd chance against Southampton, Newcastle, Watford , Chelsea and Brighton but have not really carved them open.
At home , where we can’t counterattack, we are very easy to defend against and I don’t see this changing under Roy as he won’t change his approach.
Somebody told me we have scored 7 goals in open play at home this season which sounds shocking if correct.
Our free kicks and corners are useless and leave us vulnerable to counterattack.
Roy will not take any responsibility and when asked about the poor quality in the display yesterday he just said , ‘ that’s down to individuals.’
Yes, the players are responsible too , but ultimately he is the manager and is accountable for tactics, how we set up, changes during the game and motivation.
He may have had over 40 years in the game but this does not necessarily make him right when he goes into games with an unbalanced midfield of Luka, Mcarthur and Schlupp ( leaving out Kouyate).
Or where he insists on having both Kelly and Ward on the bench at home at the expense of a winger ( Sako), if we do need to try something different.
I’m not saying this on the back of yesterday’s result and have felt this way for some time.

Shall we ignore Brightons stone wall pen by dann in the first half which could have made yesterday even harder to watch

Good post. Think I need help as I was expecting a result yesterday (eg not losing) plus beating Watford next week with a semi final Wembley appearance, then beating Huddersfield. Now all I can see is two defeats and relegation. Help!

Not one? Why just how many of them?

So much to bleat and repeat about yesterday so not gonna bother other than "Am I the only person who thought Andros was utterly shocking"?
