If he was in thd first team squad at best HD would be on thd bench surely better to play in thd u23s and get some more experience.

There certainly isn't anything more he could have done to be picked, I'm sure words have been said to him by Southgate ..it would be madness to lose him to DR Congo.

There isn't anyone anywhere better than him at the moment, he should be recognised for that in order to encourage other young talent, he has lots more experience than the Chelsea player in question.

it is annoying for football fans to see the bigger teams getting preference and all too often their players have an entitlement attitude and with that they lose fight and commitment especially when things go astray ..like in almost every big England competition.

Makes you wonder why he was not picked.

It was a LB who dropped out not a RB which makes a world of difference. I get being annoyed he wasn't picked in the first place (as he absolutely should have been), but at the point at which the squad is announced GS is saying "My first three choice RBs are Walker, Trippier and TAA".

With that in mind, if he were to call up AWB now then he'd be saying "You're RB4 and therefore not getting a game" so it's a pointless call-up. At least Hudson-Odoi is being called up in an area the squad is thin - he has an outside chance of some game-time.

Any betting that AWB will still not be called up?

Surely he cannot ignore Aaron now

They would have to break the Crystal Palace rule. We need a Crystal Palace Mandela to end this footballing apartheid.

Exactly right. People missing the bigger picture here. He is earmarked to be first choice for the under 21s in the euros this summer. There is a big opportunity for him and the team to make a real impact in that tournament. I'd much rather have young players learning and developing at that level, which is too often dismissed as irrelevant in England, than sitting on a bench doing nothing with the senior squad.

The underage teams are not really the place for Europe's top tackler, nor even for Premier League regulars.

No need for Southgate to call him up.
Walker will be first choice, with Tripper as back up. As much as we love him, AWB will have to wait in line. His time will come but he will need to be patient. It's not a bad thing. Just happens that England have a real depth in that position that's not replicated elsewhere in the squad. As I said in the previous post, he has a big role to play with the under 21s!

Seriously?? Europe's top tackler he may be according to the stats but he still has a lot to learn after less than a season. For a start, his offensive play is not yet up to that of A-A, Walker or Trippier.
