The only time I see you post on here is to dig out VG , maybe youíd rather he threw a few in than we won? Itís a very strange stance to take against one of our better players.

When I mentioned heeding the view of someone who played in goal I was not referring to myself but another poster who had played in goal and took more interest in that position.

As for knowing about goalkeeping I think that managers
like Chris Coleman, Gary Speed, Ryan Giggs,Mark Hughes, Tony Pullis, Alan Pardew, Sam Allardyce and Roy Hodgson who have all selected Hennessey know far more about football than you as they have chosen him. If he was a bad keeper they would not have given him the time of day. If VG gets injured then WH will be our goalkeeper I can only conclude that it is you who does not understand goalkeeping.

As for digging out VG what the hell have you been doing re WH for years? Pot and kettle springs yo mind.

And John Burridge (who you put in your list of 5) described Hennessey as useless.

Personally I donít think heís totally useless, just not as good as Guiata.

Who the fock is calling you a homo because I certainly aint. I think you are just trying to twist the argument away from your adoration of flapper !!!!

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Coleman, speed, giggs and Hughes didnít have the option of buying anyone to replace him. Hodgson has replaced him, Pullis bought him and continued to play Speroni and Allardyce tried to replace him with McCarthy.??

You seem to dig out VG as a very sad way of putting up a stance that Hennessy was slated. The difference being that people didnít want Hennessy to fail, he failed himself. Let us down loads of times.
You keep enjoying when VG letís a goal in and look at how he can be blamed, Iíll enjoy our good run. Stay well.

For what itís worth, I donít think you are gay, and I would have no problem even if you were.

I think the term for what you are is bi-curious. I think if Wayne came up to you in his little shorts and did one of his nazi salutes then youíd be all wobbly in the knees mate.

Well if you say Hennessey was a bad goalkeeper then why did all the Welsh managers not choose someone else
as they did not need to buy anyone else as they had their pick of anyone Welsh. McCarthy had nothing to do with Allardyce I think that was Pardew. As WH played over a 100 games for us you cannot argue that the mana gers I mentioned did not have a choice but to pick Hennessey. If he was a bad keeper he would have been shipped out long ago as McCarthy was. I've been a Palace fan all my life and I never want to see us lose and am certainly not happy when we concede. But I am not seduced by VG and will criticise when he's at fault. It just makes me smile when people like you, who would crucify WH for the slightest mistake, don't say a word when VG does the same.

wayne wasnt s*** at all

he also saw off mccarthy, mandanda & club hero jules, the fact the 1st 2 were even signed shows that jules wasnt deemed adequate backup by more than 1 manager.

as it stands wayne is our best keeper since promotion, VG could overtake him in a years or so time but not yet.

had hallerís shot at the weekend gone under wayne he would have been hammered on here but VG gets a free pass.

we are lucky to finally have 2 PL standard goalkeepers at the club.

I wouldn't blame any keeper for letting that in. An instinctive finish from 7 yards would be difficult for any keeper who had gone to cover the near post

Even with Burridge - who I saw a lot - my memory is too hazy to say heís better or worse, although I have a better view on that. And, in part, thereís my struggle. Can you really fairly compare after so many years?
Having said that, I did watch most of Nigelís matches...............

I wasn't knocking Nigel he was a great keeper for us, I just think Jackson was better, but you are quite right
,its hard to judge players after so many years apart.

To say that Wayne "saw off Jules" is laughable - Jules' best years were a decade ago. & if judged on his complete tenure, Jules is EASILY the best goalkeeper we've had since promotion.

My problem with WH is that there are 2 Wayne Henessey's

The first is a confident goalkeeper, premiership class

The second is a timid shadow of the first, who flaps @ crosses & looks like a rabbit in the headlights.

We've seen version 1, but more often we get version 2.

For me VG is somewhere inbetween, but he's consistent.
