Went to see Rich Hall last night to cheer myself up. He was really excellent. Great show and Glasgow audiences aren’t shy about getting involved which helped. He was a more cheery character than he appears on television.
Going to see Jerry Sadowitz next week which should be ...interesting. Unless he’s mellowed over the years which is frankly unlikely.

I know him. He’s the bloke who doesn’t seem to do anything and then you look again and he really isn’t doing anything.

Roy Hodgson

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

Man goes into the same shop twice a day to buy a four pack of beer. Eventually, the cashier asks him about his habit.
Why don't you just buy more at a time? He says.
Guy replies,'When the missus and I make love we have a beer each afterwards to celebrate our love for each other'.

The man keeps on coming in every day buying his four pack of beer.

A couple of weeks later, same man comes in and buys a 12 pack of beer and walks to the counter.

The assistant says,'see you have taken my advice'.

Man replies,'no mate, we still do the same but the missus is off the drink'.

3 comedians who I've loved seeing over the last few years. They all bridge the abstract/surreal/sentimental/nostalgic gap.

Tim Key - current tour Megadate is great (so good I went twice).

John Kearns - love his on stage persona.

Rob Auton - does a show a year based around a specific theme previous include yellow, sleep and water.

There's varying quality of their material available online but as always with stand up comedy live is how it's best experienced.

I like Kevin Bridges when he sticks to current stuff but he loses me a bit when he starts reminiscing about things I was too old to have done.
