I think realistically we need a manager who plays us to our strengths adn raises morale/team spirit.

I would say IMO that the football we play under RH is probably the best I have ever seen at Palace but is all too often ineffective. We only seem to get anything out of games when things go our way, whether it be a bit of luck, the counter attack actually working or the other team not turning up.

Distinct lack of heart at the club currently. I think the team does possess the quality to be (comfortably) mid-table in this league however the margins are so fine that when we try to play attractive football that doesn't work and we don't have a back up plan, or if we are not a team of evident warriors giving it their all, we will inevitably lose to those who want it more and subsequently do, frequently.

We have the quality to survive, just, but we are running the gauntlet and I would rather have an average side battling every week then see this team expecting things to be better than they are and putting in quite frankly disheartening performances.

Is the quality in the team not better then we think, I'd argue no. Is the current performance of the team not better than we think it should be, yes. We are exactly where we deserve to be given the current state of affairs.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Do you not think that spending £50m+ on Benteke and Sakho, paying them and Wilf £100k+ a week not an example of thinking big ?

It was ambitious and it is a pity that Benteke has lost the plot.
In the bigger picture, having money to spend on players alone will not make Palace a big club. It needs to have the stadium, the facilities and the mentality that it wants to compete with the top clubs. Only then will it attract players of a higher quality. Right now, we are surviving with rejects, loans and exceptional academy products.
Just to stay mid table we have to compete with your Leicesters, Wolves and other clubs being promoted that are potentially bigger like Leeds. That will require some spending and keeping our best player.
