I didn't find this on the BBC but apparently Disney has rehired director James Gunn to make Guardian of the Galaxy 3.

Now this guy is very talented but he also comes with a history of tens of child rape jokes on his social media. I'll provide an image of some of them below.

Some might say that if some didn't have double standards, that they might have no standards at all.....but then again, there's no evidence against this guy and he's apologised so perhaps he's just a jerk.

My view is that he hasn't broken the law and so....while I find it distasteful and suspicious....I don't believe in disenfranchising people for words....but then again, this guy is already a multi millionaire so he's hardly needing a soup kitchen... I'll say here....these are some stomach churning tweets.

What's Hol's view of all of this?

It seems incredible that any employer would take him on after those tweets let alone one whose primary audience is children.

1 Tweet could be taken as a sick joke.
2 Tweets then you'd start to think - Hmmm ?
All of those Tweets = keep your kids away.

They reported it 4 days ago.

They took him on for the first 2 films after those tweets. Why shouldn't they take him on for the 3rd one.

Optimistic as ever

Indeed. Can’t help the suspicion that there is something very wrong being hidden in the entertainment business by some lesser names being thrown under the bus.

Fair enough.

As far as I'm aware they didn't know about the tweets until after the second film.

It's not to my taste, perhaps it's meant to be humour? Which is subjective after all.

It certainly wouldn't wash in any other walk of life and these kind of public posts would fail our recruitment due diligence before the interview stage. Obviously, Hollywood hiring procedures aren't as stringent as a British SME!

It depends if you think any and all dark humor is acceptable.
I don't find it funny and anyone who does has a very immature and abnormal mentality in my opinion.

Dark humor to make light of tragedy is a coping mechanism but I don't know what the hell this is.

The left always protect their own. James Gunn gets his job back, while Roseanne Barr doesn't for her offensive tweet.

He's also in trouble for calling people trannys then. Surprised Hollywood is putting up with this. He definitely has dirt on people.
