Having the belts increases his pay day but he isn't the main attraction Joshua is. Ruiz hasn't earned that level of pay day....that requires more than one fight. The purse disparity is a bit more than I'd have thought, but ultimately getting $9million for a high profile fight against somebody you've already beaten and stand a good of beating again isn't a bad days work.

I know how this business works though. I think Dave sums it up in his post above when he mentions his surprise at the disparity in purses. Hopefully will all be sorted soon so us fans can have this to look forward to.

Couldn’t have put it better myself. He’s still a unit even when slimmed down but should now be quicker and more mobile. I think whilst he continued to win many of his flaws were not really noticed. I like AJ and wish him well but I find his fights fairly boring.
