Benteke. Especially when we play Bournemouth.

We need a worst ever penalty thread.

Actually maybe not, Puncheon v spurs, close thread

Not the best penalty taker ever but Alfie Noakes didn't mess about. It Was in the era of the heavier balls and he used to take a long run and just belt it as hard as he could. If he did miss wide of the posts about three feet off the ground the fans behind the goal
had to dive out of the way pretty smartish.

For Me - Ronnie Allen in the 60's. Best Penalty taker I've ever seen, but Luka comes very close.

Beckenham born; Palace for life (since 195.

I think it has to be between Luka or AJ, statistically across their careers (Not just Palace), AJ has scored 22 out of 26 pens, missing 4.
Luka has scored 19 out of 22, missing 3.
Both are great records, and its hard to call a clear favourite.. Interestingly, AJ never missed a Premier League penalty, though he did miss two in the same game for Everton in a European game off the back of not scoring for 6 months.
Just shows its down hill once you leave the Palace

It may be my memory playing tricks, but didn't AJ miss one in a televised game v Charlton in the Premier. The same game where we lost to a last minute breakaway goal and (I think) Danny Granville went AWOL

Not palace, but Ray Stewart, the old West Ham right back was one of the best, he used to hit it so hard, even if a keeper got to it, it would probably take them into the net with the ball

I don't know about his penalties, gut he was my favorite player in those days, he came to us late in his career, but still a terrific player to my very young eyes.

One major contender was Peter Taylor who took one, I think it was against Millwall, which almost went for a throw in.

I remember Ronnie Allen used to live near us in South Norwood. There was a bonfire on some waste ground in Warminster Road one Guy Fawkes night and I saw him there with his children.

December 2004 saved by Dean Kiely. Last minute winner scored by Dennis Rommedahl.

I remember Ronnie Allen scoring a penalty against Mansfield in the cup in the last minutes to equalise . We lost replay 7-2
