Great servant and was such a hard man on the pitch like Ron Harris at Chelsea and Billy Bremner at Leeds. Loved watching those guys back in the day. It was a hard (sometimes unfair) game back in those days and Tommy Smith was one of the greats / hard men of that generation. In today’s football he would have got a yellow or perhaps a red with his first challenge :-) Makes you realise how old you are when you watched him as a young man yourself :-(
