I have a feeling he is a right-back who can play at left-back but I will need to confirm this.

I am of the understanding that he was converted from a striker to a defender by David Wagner when he was coaching the Borussia Dortmund reserves.

Yeah, but I think it was mostly by Klopp, not David Wagner, to get inside the Borussia Dortmund first team squad. Borussia had a really good team back then, they were Champions League finalists, so it was very difficult from lads from the second team to get in. Erik Durm accepted to play anywhere, so they used him as back wherever needed.

But I'm not that much of a fan. All his accomplishments come from playing as right winger in a 3-5-2 position. Can't really talk about his defensive skills as I haven't watched him closely, but Huddersfield is the team with most conceded goals, so there's that.

I'd have much rather liked Felix Passlack from Borussia Dortmund. More reliable in the defense and better going forward. He is a AWB type of player. Just that he would be free. He was on loan at Norwich this season. They won the Championship, but he has hardly played and I don;t think they're keeping him. He lost the battle with Max Aarons, another very good young right back. So, Passlack is going back to Borussia Dortmund, but they'll probably want to loan him somewhere else or sell him.

He is a right-back but with respect this thread is about suggestions for the left-back berth. You are absolutely correct, Passlack has hardly played for Norwich - only 6 appearances but only 1 in the Championship.Norwich paid a loan fee of £450,000 for him.

In one game. He played many games there previously when we had no LB, and we struggled massively. Had even been a bit of a weak link at RB for a while until AWB came in.

Left-back and striker are our two priority positions, I think. Hopefully we can sell on either Souare or PVA.

Another left-back who was better coming forward than defending. Not the best defender, so similarities with PVA.
Must be in his 50s now.

PVA was excellent against Everton, that saving tackle against Richardlsson the highlight of the game, together with the Guaita save.

He had a poor couple of games but I am sure he has been reminded and has fixed it.

Who relegates other teams? PVA does !!

Look out Cardiff I think it is your turn......

These threads love to have a player to have a go at. Most have moved on from Schlup to PVA. He does blow hot and cold, but when he's hot he is very good indeed. Schlup is adequate back up. I think what money we have to spend should be invested elsewhere. It depends what happens with Meyer. If he moves on we will definitely need some creativity in midfield (preferably a little bit more robust).

I suspect that unless we sell one of our prized assets,we will be constrained in the transfer market as we have been in recent windows.

His distribution was awful, kept passing into midfield. McArthur, Luka and Wilf all had a go at him about it.
